I have 4000+ hours in Destiny 1. It became a home away from home for me for a long time. I was so excited when Destiny 2 was announced, that I pre-ordered it as soon as I could. Expansions and all. I was hyped to get to grinding again, getting god-roll weapons and armor, playing the strikes over and over again trying to get the strike-specific gear. I didn't even know there was a raid ship for Crota's End until I randomly got it a year after release. After reaching max light over and over again, I always had things to do. I had specific gear I wanted, I had the thrill of the different crucible modes (6v6 COME BACK), I had trials, I had the meaningful Ornaments that I actually wanted to grind for. The synthetic grind of Destiny 2 is pathetic compared to the genuine grind of D1. I have max power on 2 characters, and I'm at a loss of what to do. This Dawning event is terrible, the synthetic grind is trash. Everything is locked behind a paywall now. I'll play for 8 hours and receive 2 Bright Engrams, which don't even carry the seasonal loot! This game has become more than a cash grab. It's become an insult to the people that dedicated so much time to the Destiny universe as a whole. I'm disgusted by the direction Bungie and Activision has taken the Destiny IP.
In order for us to get our point across, we need to do something about it. We need to directly state our concern to the company. Contact Bungie. Contact Activision. Actively boycott the pay-to-enjoy state of the game by ignoring microtransactions. Post on social media about your disappointment. Get it through Bungie's thick skull that the community will not stand for this, and that they need to treat Destiny like a game again, not a gambling simulator.
