IMO Bungie is taking a cool idea, ie a spirit of Christmas, time to give back to the community theme and then twisting it to ream diehard fans and 12 year olds with access to their parents credit cards.

In my opinion, it is a cash grab dressed up as a festive event. Basically just another way to make some money while putting about zero effort. At least D1 had sparrow racing. Now there are snowballs. A thrilling feature to be sure.
