Three of coins is a joke!
I bought 11 my buddy bought 20. We eached used one. During the 4 hour window I got one exotic he didn't get any. We used another three of coins once again i got one in 4 hours this time he got one as well. There is no noticeable increased chance of getting exotics with these. I'm almost max light and have almost every exotic so it's no big deal for me, buy i feel sorry for people that expect good things from this.

Just letting everybody know, there IS apparently a bug with Three of Coins. A lot of people are reporting NO drops whatsoever. While obviously we shouldn't have an exotic drop for every event with 3oC, the fact that you can grind non-stop for 4 entire hours while not getting anything just doesn't sit right with me. It's not a matter of players acting entitled, it's a matter of the game respecting the time and effort that players put into it. If a player grinds non-stop for 4 hours straight, then ends their grind session no closer to their goals than when they started, that's 4 hours of their life wasted. This is why I dislike loot systems based purely on RNG. There's always some chance, no matter how small, of a player grinding literally endlessly, yet never getting the drop they're after. I love Fated Engrams for this exact reason. If RNG absolutely refuses to bless you with something, you can at least grind for legendary shards and buy a Fated Engram at the weekend. Even if you don't get the specific Exotic you want on your first Engram, it still decreases the amount of "exotics you don't have" and thus increases your chances of getting your desired exotic next time. In short, don't use 3oC for the moment, they're bugged. Grind for Legendary Shards instead (maybe you'll get some exotics anyway while grinding), buy Fated Engrams each week with your shards. You'll have all exotics eventually, and it'll have been because of the time and energy you put in as opposed to RNG spontaneously deciding to bless you with something.

1 ReplyI really don't understand. Nearly everyone is acting like 3oC says "you will get more exotics" when all it says is "Increased chance to receive Exotic engrams". That still sounds like RNG to me, and RNG can be a fickle mistress.

1 ReplyThere are Ultras galore in this game. The old 3oCs worked only by killing Ultras and the payout was roughly 1 in 5 ultra kills. Now I know there’s a shit more Ultras running around this game, but they should’ve just kept the same system. They could’ve made it every 1 in 15 Ultras. Whatever. I haven’t bought any yet but it sucks to know that they’re horrible and useless. Destiny 2: horrible and useless

It cause they throttled it. Xur is now in charge of Eververse and is is running Bungo’s scams. He was the only one that applied for that new position they posted earlier in the week. Xur was seen telling Tess “ Xurs butches better be selling bright engrams”!

Because it seems the longer/harder you play the less your chances are for anything good. I played over 8 hours last night used a medallion and a 3 of coins, first four hours no exotic, and no master work drops. I was grinding strikes very hard, mobs, public events, patrols, and quests. I EVEN HAD A QUEST WHERE YOU HAD TO DECRYPT AN EXOTIC ENGRAM!! After that ordeal of pain. I decided to give it another go, I used one more, I received nothing until my timer was at 10 minutes left. 8+ hours of constant grinding, for 1 engram. While I do like to grind, I think these anti farming tactics are over the top!

Agreed. I couldn't sleep last night, so while my wife was sleeping away I decided to get on D2 (even though it's boring) and finish the milestones. Popped a 3 of coins and the Fireteam medallion, and got one exotic in the 3.5 hours. No noticeable boost in getting higher exotic drops to get to max light. Farming it seems is still throttled. I get higher exotic drops still from Public Events.

Used it 2 1/2 hours ago. Finished Crucible Milestone, 3-4 Heroic Public Events and a Heroic Strike. I’ve received ZERO Exotic engrams. 3oC is a massive -blam!-ing joke, complete waste of legendary shards.

3 of coins is a joke . I had to do 10 public events before I even got a exotic and then didn't get nothing after that I'm even getting one token from a public event . If I want tokens I'll go farm world chests or kill high valued targets . Loved D1 . Destiny 2 is shocking like bungie just rushed the DLC and the whole game . Dissapoiting to me as I'm a big destiny fan. Need to do something or your player base gonna drop even more . :)

1 ReplyIt prevents u from getting exotics, it doesnt give them to u. They put this shit in to give the appearance that there fixing things. Go buy 5 bucks worth of silver from eververse and then pop a 3oc and go into the crucible, i bet u get an exotic your first match.

It’s most likely another slight-of-hand trick on Bungo’s part. Throttle exotic drops, implement 3ofcoins to make legendary shards relevent and bring drop back to their normal rates. While using 3oC I didn’t feel like Golden Engrams were showing up any more often than before either. Still haven’t tried without though so my guess is they pulled the same shtick they did for “fixing” the xp problem.

2 RepliesPretty sure I read somewhere that they nerfed exotic drop rates so that coin thing will probably bring it back up to what it was before the nerf. I know i've not seen an exotic drop since the patch. RNG. That being said, after the crucible tokens being a let down and (I hear the eververse ones are trash too), did anyone really expect the 3 of coins to do anything amazing? While the tokens came across to me like they just wanted people to use up their bright duct, this looks like a way for Bungie to get rid of some of those shards people are hoarding.

Yeah... Bought one to test out then ran strikes for FOUR HOURS for forging materials and didn’t get one exotic to drop. Then about an hour after the 3oC timer expired, one dropped from a strike. And then it was a duplicate. So... Not sure how or if it’s working. 🤔
