I have been thinking of how much more Destiny had to offer than Destiny 2 and want to see if anyone else can add anything. I'm just dumbfounded that bungie really says things like "we really like the direction the game is going" or "we are enjoying the balance" and talk about the game as if it was a huge success.
Destiny 1 had -
Multiple pvp playlists
Multiple squad sizes (regardless of time to kill)
Custom games (a step forward finally, instead of forcematching for 2 years!!)
Rumble playlists
Heroic strikes
Difficulty options for strikes as well as story mode
Option to repeat story's (also a daily story)
Actual reasons to replay the raid time and time again (LOOT)
Random armor rolls
Random weapon rolls
Great exotics, that felt EXOTIC
Re-rollable weapons
Legendary weapons that FELT LEGENDARY. (Vision, Fatebringer, Black Hammer, etc) Weapons that were hard to get, whether pvp or pve.
Do you remember what it was like to have a god roll Efrideet's Spear? Or a shot gun that actually felt like a shot gun (rangefinder). What about the perfect Byronic Hero?
Does anyone remember when Shadestep was not an ability that took forever to recharge? Or Titan skating?
Destiny 1 had such intense gameplay and gave me so much incentive to play with my clanmates, people I invested so much time with and became great friends with regardless of age. Friends who stopped playing entirely as soon as Destiny 2 became monotonous and boring (September).
I keep coming to the news tab hoping bungie has some way of actually giving their paying customers what they want and so far nothing. I had so much hope for Destiny 2 and I am so let down. I feel like I've given so much time and effort to this developer since I first got my hands on Halo 1 when I was 12 and this is just a slap in the face.
Can someone please enlighten me in what Destiny 2 has to offer that is a step forward?
