Every single game in crucible has horrible lag. I can't feel it in movement or shooting (as there is no rubber-banding or stuttering) but every hit registers 2 - 3 seconds after I fire, or not at all. Every single firefight I get into, I either kill them because they took over 5 seconds to react, I shoot them for a solid 3 seconds (or more) and then they kill me, before my hits register and I see them suddenly take damage and die in the kill / follow cam, or my hits don't register at all, and they are able to walk away on full health.
In case you are wondering, my internet is fine. I have an average or 50ms latency to other online games and during my crucible plays I was careful to leave my network un-congested by other devices to keep latency low.
I did look in the resource monitor, and found that the destiny client (destiny2.exe) was creating TCP connections of between 200 - 1000ms of latency, despite my network being completely clear of any other traffic and all other applications having very low latency (<50ms)
During my research it came down to basically two options:
1. Destiny was constantly matchmaking me against people from other continents? Why?? There are PLENTY of people playing in my country, and I would far prefer to wait an extra minute for a good experience that play an incredibly laggy and un-enjoyable game.
2. I haven't port-forwarded my router and so the PnP connection has to be routed though proxy servers which are in a different region. Again. why? why can't they just have proxy servers in my region to avoid all this crazy lag.
These are just my theories, but as it stands, crucible is a laggy unplayable mess.
