Whether you blame Bungie, Activision or Obama, the game is a failure. Until it becomes not that way, I couldn't care less who is at fault.
-
The community is also partly to blame, its childish and contradicts itself constantly, asks for something and then complain when it's implemented. I agree bungie could do better but don't sit here bashing the game all day, it's only a game at the end of the day.
-
Our main issue is the whole thing with bright engrans
This is probably the least important of the concerns voiced by the community. Eververse is a pretty fair way to have microtransactions. They're almost entirely cosmetic and your progress through the game isn't really helped or hindered by them at all. No one likes microtransactions but if they absolutely must be in the game then Eververse really isn't that bad. The real issues for me are drastically nerfed abilities, static rolls, 4v4 and crappy exotics. When you add static rolls to a game like this there is almost no incentive to keep playing once you have the guns that you want. That's the real problem.

No it's all Bungies fault. period. full stop. they developed the game they manage the game they make all the creative decisions they make all the balance decisions Activision doesn't do any of that shit Activision is like a Record Label for a band. The record label does the marketing, they press and package the album's for retail sale, they schedule the concerts and they sign bands and contract with them for a set number of albums(sometimes within a timeframe) Start blaming Bungie for this turd, they have no excuse

Edited by Swiftlock: 12/11/2017 8:59:37 AMSure. Blame Activision too. They're the real devil behind how mediocre D2 was.
-
They suck
-
yeap, someone else produced and executed D2.

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 12/11/2017 1:18:57 AMThat’s simply wrong. At the end of the day, the decisions to implement things into the game falls to Bungie, and so too does the blame. The big problem is that the dev management is ultimately caught up in one huge circle jerk and that they are only making changes that they feel is best for themselves rather than what is best for the gamers.
You know why you see people complaining about various issues that end up filling the Trending page of both #Destiny and #Feedback? I’ll tell you why: it’s because all those people hate the shitty changes being made in the first place. A good example would be the rep system for factions. Everyone was used to that system because it actually rewarded you for doing activities. You got a rank-up package that guaranteed a faction weapon or armor piece. That was that. Sane thing with Iron Banner. You hit Rank 3 or 5 and you were guaranteed IB gear. Also, gear would actually drop in IB so grinding for a set was realistically possible and if you didn’t get a certain piece then you’d be able to buy it up front from Lord Saladbowl if he put in stock. So, what happened there? Why did that system get thrown out the way it did? Nobody likes an unrewarding grind, yet you could play up to 20 matches in D2’s IB to turn in tokens for a package, only to end up getting generic gear that can be obtained literally anywhere else in the game. That crappy design slows down hardcore players from reaching a goal while also hurting the more casual playerbase that D2 is now aimed towards. If it was to slow down players from playing too much in too little time then it worked, albeit at the cost of turning players away from the game altogether.
Edited by EvocativePizza: 12/10/2017 5:59:42 PMI don’t agree. If the Bungie employees had morals and cared about gamers, they should leave the company if they are being forced to create and implement exploitative tactics that target gambling addicts, children and simpletons. But they have no moral quandaries about these things because it’s all about money with these companies. Super Mario Odyssey will likely win GoTY from many outlets. Mario has two different types of currencies in the game and guess what? No Microtransactions. What?!!!?! You actually earn all cosmetics and currencies in game?!?!?!! And people like this game?!?!?!

No we don't they -blam!-ed up big time https://youtu.be/aEEUJ4hSwwI
-
-blam!- you, fanboy. Bungie willingly partnered with Activision. That's the truth, stop pretending like there was some hostile takeover by Activision. Bungie CHOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
-
Our displeasure is not about eververse engrams...wtf. There's about 47 other things in front of that...holy hell.
-
Nope, core design of the game is broken. That's on Bungo, not Activision. However, I agree that more people should take their hate to the Activision. They should sink right along with Bungie.
-
Bright engrams most certainly are not the main issue. Idek where you got that from. People dont like them but there are way more issues with this game than just micro transactions.
-
Nah nah nah Bungie have total control over Destiny's IP. Has nothing to do with Activision.
-
Bright engrams are waaaaay down on my list. Slow charging abilities, weak abilities, weak and boring weapons, lame gear, 4v4-those are all on Bungie.
-
I left my drink in my car while I was at work today and when I came back out it was flat. Thanks Bungie.
-
Amen Op. It is like these kids forgot that they were the ones who cried for D1 to be uber casual
-
Community deserves a lot of blame to Cry cry cry wah wah wah get rid of this get rid of that.. so they got rid of everything, including all the fun Good job scum bags
-
No it’s Bungie’s fault for signing the contract with Activision. No body held a gun to Bungie’s collective heads and forced them to sign that contract. Bungie is responsible for all the design choices within their game and that’s where the majority of problems lie with this franchise.
-
As developers, theres nothing great about d2. Halo was long long ago.
-
MIND ALL OF YOU THAT BUNGIE SIGNED THIS CONTRACT WHEN?? 2013! THEY AREN’T VEX AND THEY CAN’T SEE INTO THE FUTURE! NO ONE KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN, ACTIVISION MADE IT HAPPEN!
-
Bungie definitely put the xp scaler in D2. It's still stupid for people to be mad over it.
-
My car is just one problem after another thanks to bungie!
-
Edited by kennedy109: 12/10/2017 8:08:43 PMNo it's all bungie Activision put up the cash gave bungie free reign on sequel all they told them was to have xyz expansions ready in z timeline so ye it's Luke's fault.
-
P2P connection is the biggest problem with this game
