*** Prometheus Lens, D2 PvP Answer in Disguise??? ***
So, Prometheus Lens could be the answer in disguise. If instead of nerfing it, they increased overall TTK (time to kill) of every other weapon to match it (cough cough, 3 Tap), PvP would be fast like D1 n Ranked play ready because you could have 1on1 engagements easier. Because as it stands players can escape with a sliver of health WAY too often.
I recently booted D1 back up and the balance in PvP between 1on1 and team shooting was perfect. If I wanted to go rouge, I did, and didn't feel unfairly overwhelmed by 2 or more enemies. Staying with my team wasn't by any means a necessity like it is currently in D2 PvP.
Also, elevate the sniper rifle to the energy slot. Having snipers in the same slot as rockets and shotguns has severely lessened their overall usage, every other power weapon type is fine where it is. Having snipers not regulated by power ammo would offset any advantage a three tap scout, hand cannon, or pulse rifle. However, this offset is vice verse, in that three tap is the best way to counter the one hit capability of snipers at long range. This relationship lead to many fun battles in D1 PvP between myself equipped with a Last Extremity Scout and enemies using a sniper rifles.
I can't be the only one who thinks this.
