Okay, so seriously. I'm getting sick of seeing the same old posts on this forum.
"I'm quitting"
"Bungie you lost a great customer"
"Bungie you suck and I'm never buying from you again"
Etc, etc.
You know what, good for you! Tell me, what part of these whiny arse posts are constructive or in any way help to fix any of the issues that plague Destiny 2? Furthermore, do you think the devs reading these forums or anybody at Bungie for that matter gives a single f--k that you're not going to play their game anymore? NO! They don't. All you're doing is making the problem worse by clogging up the forums with nonsense and taking away room for constructive feedback to be posted.
THAT BEING SAID!
After playing through the game and reading up on Forum Posts, I can helpfully recommend to any Bungie Staff reading that the following be worked on or implemented to make the gameplay better :
---End-Game Prestige Content should be tweaked to give players more of a feeling of actually completing a difficult challenge! (I.E. Prestige-Specific weapons with perks that non-Prestige weapons can't have)
---Bring back the perks system from Destiny 1. It really worked and the playerbase loves it! Static perks take away some of the grind and desire to actually use most of the weapons.
---Make Sniper Rifles, Grenade Launchers and Fusion Rifles more powerful or beneficial to use! Most of the Power Weapons are not beneficial when compared to others, such as Curtain Call or Sins of the Past. This could really bring back a lot of players and wouldn't be too difficult to change!
---Add some skill based challenge to the raid encounters as opposed to nothing but mechanics. Anybody with a controller can learn and repeat actions to achieve victory! Tweaking the encounters to add some more skill-based challenge would help. I.E. At the Courtyard, put a timer on the large enemies that guard the banners. Or, at Calus dial back the level of intense mechanics going on, remove some of the glitches and nit-picky ways you can die. Replace what you remove with something like the Oryx ogres and blights mechanic! There are so many ways the raid can be tweaked and altered to give a more balanced experience. Right now it feels as though we're being forced through some dull obstacle course where skill doesn't matter, only our ability to understand and execute repetitive actions. In other words, Leviathan is so nit-picky it just turns many end-game players off from playing it! That, coupled with the end-game rewards system (mentioned above) is really damning.
---In future DLCs, spend the most time on the story. Playtest it. Make sure the content is not going to be over in a few hours. Give us something more in-depth with more missions! You'll still get your money, and we'll get what we want. Meaningful, immersive gameplay!
See how I did that? My post targeted people who simply rant about how bad the game is and then say they're leaving without giving any constructive feedback ; while also giving the constructive feedback this forum is lacking! Don't be so toxic guys, Bungie has issues, Destiny 2 has issues, but when has dumping water on a grease fire ever solved anything? Just take a deep breath and realize that a lot of what Bungie has done was done to appease the people who complained about Destiny 1 without being toxic and rude to the company. Also understand that video game development is not a simple process, and massive overhauls and changes cannot be enacted overnight. Bungie may be well aware of some issues and may be spending their time working out ways to fix it without breaking the entire game. You might scoff and laugh, saying "Oh well maybe they should scrap the game and start over" But it's also not that simple! With all the money people have paid and all of the actual work that has gone into Destiny 2 (whether you will acknowledge it as 'work' or not...fact is they did a lot of work to give us what we have) it's ridiculous to consider scrapping the entire thing and starting anew so far along in the process. Remember Destiny 1? Remember when they did exactly that with the entire campaign? What did we end up with? A broken, nonsensical story that wasn't linear at all and had to have 2-3 DLCs to make any sense. At least this time we started with a sensible and linear story (albeit a bit on the short side) and many of the issues that were present at Destiny 1's launch are no longer here. (Yes, I know a lot of the same issues have cropped up.) That's progress! Small though it might be, Bungie is not perfect ; their staff are not gods. Simply shouting and demanding a fix 'or else' will not bring it about. I firmly believe that we will see the changes we want implemented into this game. It's simply about being patient, understanding and working with the developers to help them bring about a change. You can say that they don't deserve that after what they've done, but if you believe that then you also cannot demand a fix. You can't have it both ways ; this is how the video game industry works. This is how Bungie works. If you want a fix, or a change, be patient and positive! Great things do not happen overnight. One final note, I enjoy most of the aspects of Destiny 2 and will continue to support Bungie throughout this process, and I encourage even those who are frustrated to at least contribute constructive, positive feedback and see what happens. Even if you're not going to keep buying their products, how bad can it hurt to post a feedback thread on a forum and go about your day? It takes all of 5-10 minutes. Every little bit can count :)
