I enjoy this game. That bad?
I have to say I enjoy this game. I work 50-60 hours a week, have three kids and only get to play games on my down time for a few hours every couple of nights. Yes I'm a casual and I can understand the hardcore gamers that is frustrated with this game as I was once some years back. Yes it's very easy to acquire everything in this game but I didnt play D1 for the loot, I played to have a bit of fun in my spare time and that's what I'm doing with D2. I'd like D2 to get better PvP but in the meantime I'll just play with what we have and not complain about it.

It's not "Bad". There are plenty of games that are made for you. There are tons of games you can just jump into and play for a little bit, feel like you accomplished something, and turn of for a week. Here's the problem. There aren't very many games out there for me, the hardcore player. Destiny 1, in all it's forms, was the best hardcore game I've ever played. It was our game. But Bungie decided that it wasn't our game. Now, you've got 10,000 great casual games you can play, and I've got about 3 hardcore games that are any good. A balance should have been reached. A compromise between hardcore and casual. Instead, Bungie went 100% casual. Destiny is just another game in the crowd now. There isn't a single special thing about it. It's just like every other casual game. I wonder if it can survive without the hardcore's word of mouth... Or the hardcore bad mouthing it... I doubt it.

1 ReplyIt's not as bad as the forum makes it out to be with all the trolls. But it's definitely not nearly as good as D1 Y3 either. I spend a lot less time in D2 than I did in D1 but I mostly play for fun and to socialize with my clan. Unlike a lot of people on the forums (for any game not just this forum) if I don't like a game and don't play it I don't go to that game's forum and constantly troll. But I have better things to do with my time I guess.

Thankfully there are people out there that will stand up and complain for you so that we all can eventually have a better experience. I mean it's great that you're a casual gamer and are happy with a paper thin experience but I certainly am not.

No its not bad. The game has some obvious faults but, the core game is good. It's just not what peopke expected it to be and, it's missing some very obvious features. That is mind boggling.

1 ReplyThe answer is no. It's entirely possible to enjoy this game, still want it to improve and get better. But not hate it. It's not a zero sum game where you have to either blindly love, or adamantly hate it. It's good that you enjoy the game. It's even better that you're willing to recognize there are flaws in a product you like and actively encourage the developers to improve those flaws.

The initial reviews of the game around 8.5 were spot on and confirm your statement as well. The first few hours are great. Much better than vanilla D1. Once you play enough hours, the "endgame" seems to be non-existent. Many of the hardcore players reached that point in about 2 weeks. At first I was like you. I told myself that these hardcore players just devour content and complain. However, as a player that also has a job and family to take care of, I also reached endgame content in the last few weeks, only to see the point of view of the hardcore players. I love destiny and I think criticism and feedback is important for the game to evolve for the better. Simply being passive and not providing constructive criticism will be the end to destiny as we love it.

14 RepliesYo i’m pretty sure everyone liked the game until they got to 305 and realized D2 has ZERO endgame... and seeing as you only have one character at 200 light when it only takes like 6 hours to finish the lackluster story in december, you’ll probably enjoy the game for a long time 😂

1 ReplyAnd that’s makes sense for people like you to get rewards and not feel like you have to grind out your life for basic things. But some people like me feel like we reached the peak of our power so quickly through the game that there is little incentive to play it. They made D2 difficulty PVE down to easy mode and the raid easy-medium and trials hard-nightmare mode.
