It’s been a while since I made a thread, so I think I’ll make a thread. You know how satisfying a shotgun can be when made and used right? Well, on the other end of the range spectrum of is the bolt action rifle.
Scoped or unscoped, there’s something great about when you can get a good shot off with these guns. Even when you don’t, there’s something fun about watching your character pull back the bolt and load a new round in.
For those of you who can agree with the things I say, what are some of your favorite bolt actions? For those who can’t, what bolt action rifles earned your respect and/or fear, if any?
Personally, I enjoy the Ignis Fugit from Raiders of the Broken Planet. Sure, it’s not as powerful as some of the other rifles of the game, but it’s quick charge and reload makes up for that. Great for a sniper that need to keep moving.
The M40A5 from bf3/4 and the Gol magnum from Bad company 2. Longest headshot was 1800m in bf4 with srr61 so that gets a honourable mention.
-
Hate me if you want but I liked No Land Beyond and the hunting rifle from fallout 4
-
Probably the Locus sniper rifle from CoD: Black Ops 3. Rate of fire isn’t too bad, and one hits most of the time if you have decent aim.
-
Not sure about my overall favourite but one of them is definitely the Mosin Nagant. Not quite certain of what it exactly is that makes me love it so much but is just a beautiful rifle with lovely stability and impeccable firepower - especially for how cheaply it was initially made for.
-
The Intervention Used to settle arguments with that weapon back in the day...
-
Buffalo from Borderlands 2
-
L96A1 from BO1. Hit hard and sounded great. Back when maps were big enough to support snipers so you weren't rushed the second you fired a shot.
-
Bolt action shotguns. I have one.
-
Model 70 pre 64
-
The CS-5 from BF4. Nothing better than hitting a long distance headshot with it. Also the Intervention from MW2.
-
Kraber
-
The Mosin pistol from BF1 seems pretty cool. A bolt action pistol with a sweet spot, What?
-
Any of the ridiculously large antitank rifles.
-
Fallout 3 ol' painless
-
Srr-61 and .338 recon from bf4. The recon has such a crisp badass sound to it. Awp from cs Kar98 and enfield from dod
-
CoD: WaW’s Moisin Nagant. I would have entire teams hunting me and ignoring the objective halfway through the game lol
-
The AWP. This weapon is so fun to use and so iconic, it deserves my support. It's my favorite rifle in CSGO. My favorite gun(s), however are the Dual Elites. Makes me feel like I'm in a Matrix movie.
-
The kar idk why in any game (doesn't have to be ww 2) I really like the gun
-
Ol' Painless from Fallout 3. It's a unique variant of the regular bolt-action Hunting Rifle, only it cycles faster and does more damage. Badass weapon.
-
Another rifle I would like to bring up is the Red Orchestra/Rising Storm version of the Mosin Nagant. This is a rifle for holding the line, with or without a scope.
-
I’m just going to make a list and throw it in a spoiler because it’ll be a little long. It’s not really in any order though.
M40A3 - CoD4 M24 - Battlefield 2 L96 - Battlefield 2 SV98 - Battlefield 3 L96 - Battlefield 3 M40A5 - Battlefield 4 SV98 - Battlefield 4 Steyr Scout Elite - Battlefield 4 Intervention - MW2 MSR - MW3 L96A1 - CoD BO No Land Beyond - Destiny MORS - CoD AW
-
Irl k98 8mm mauser Game m24 from bad company 2
-
Barrett M95 from battlefield bad company 2
-
Mosin Nagant, only because of CoD 2. That sniper mission was really fun.
-
The SRR-61 was my most used in BF4, with almost 3000 kills. Nothing else even hit 500. Really, I’ll take just about any bolt-action rifle. I love them.

As of recent memory.... Most of BF1 riffles (no scope). 🤔
