Bungie speaks, but lies
This entire mess was only "fixed" when game journos picked the story up, and you can't even own up to it. Congratulations, you're just as dishonest as every other big dev in the West.

5 RepliesI believe they've reversed this as it was a way to get people to buy silver, to then buy bright engrams. And a law is being passed in Europe that makes lootboxes and purchases of in game currency that buy RNG items, classed as gambling. So it wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to make headway on this. Either way, it shouldn't take news stories to make changes happen.

I mean bungie's lootbox system may be cosmetic only, but it's slimy as f*ck and I can't believe nobody saw it the second you had to take your bright engrams to the cash shop instead of the cryptarch. Gotta get people to the cash shop before they can spend their money, right? Well I say spend their money, what I actually mean is spend part of their money because in age old scammer fashion the amount of currency you can buy always leaves you with change left over to entice you to buy even more silver. I hope regulators worldwide have their way with your dirty little nickel and dime cash cow, I hope they tax the living s*it out of you and make you slap an adults only rating on everything that even approximates a lootbox. I hope the suits at Activision Blizzard and other companies like them are afraid right now, because the VAST majority of gamers are done with their lies, sick of their glorified gambling and are absolutely done with otherwise good games being irreparably tainted by corporate greed, and right now they're out for AAA industry blood.

Everything posted/spoken/written by a Bungie spokesperson has been vetted, revised, and vetted again to ensure there has been no concrete, specific detail. All you get from them is statements that deceive, evangel, and obfuscate. This debacle is no exception.

6 RepliesWe spoke and they fixed it and here you are complaining about how long it took them go somewhere else man. Yeah journos picked it up but that’s because the issue became a big enough problem. If they ran around trying to fix every gripe and complaint that showed up in the forums there would be an update everyday and no time to deliver what people want like new content.
