The FCC, Federal Communication Commission, is the United States Bureau that controls and regulates all public broadcasting, internet, and anything that connects the people.
The FCC is trying to destroy net neutrality, where internet providers have to be fair and not filter what you see.
Ex. 1: AT&T cannot block any Comcast related stuff.
Ex. 2: The Internet providers can create obsurd bundles such as
- $40 a month for the minimum
bundle of email only
-$60 a month for basic bundle for
standard definition YouTube
browsing with a 100Gb data cap
-$80 a month for regular data with
speed limitations and
restrictions on video games
-$150 for truely unlimited data
with no filters.
Imagine if the poorer people could not afford the 150 dollar bundle, how much would the player base drop? It would be a good and bad thing. 1 less people lagging, 2 longer wait times on this game. There will be less people playing online games because their internet providers won't allow them.
This is an old topic yes, but the commission is planning to vote during Thanksgiving, right under our noses so nobody will notice.

So instead we want the government in charge of it? Yeah, no risk of problems there. /s
