It's a team of 300 people operating on a budget of hundreds of millions of dollars working on the sequel/third installment of a game that began development 5-6 years ago.
Foh with that pity bullshit.
WE PAY THEIR SALARY.
Stop pandering to these devs man they are calling themselves AAA and are responsible for the future of not only this franchise but of the Bungie name and history.
The less pushback we provide as a community, the more lazy half-assed products we get. When they can sell millions of pre-orders and season passes to chumps like you because you think coding is soooooo hard - there's a problem.
Don't be fooled, these people are all passionate and highly skilled. I agree with you in general, it's like when someone says a certain pro athlete pales in comparison to another, it's like yeah okay but they're both A MILLION times better than us and they're in the best league in the country, or world!
It's not personal, and I'd say it's WAY less about the actual grunt devs and more about management and the executive departments -blam!-ing up the direction of the game.
Whatever the case, this is a AAA title from a AAA developer and they should start acting like they deserve that definition.
Cooking a perfect steak is hard too - but if I pay $60 for one and it comes out raw... I'm gonna be pissed! Are you gonna eat it anyways and say "well steak is difficult y'know"....

It does to the developer's in this case "Activision" only a small portion of the sales go to Bungie. The majority of the money used for their salaries came from Activision when they signed a contract with Bungie. Its the reason why they have strict a timetable to create and ship content for us to purchase. If they don't, according to the contract, Activision can force Bungie to merge with them.

Activision 100% CANNOT "force Bungie to merge with them". How does that even make sense? You're right that the revenue generated from sales gets split between multiple parties, but that information is not public. You and I both have absolutely NO CLUE what their ratios are and who gets paid what. The budget was never intended to be spent fully on Destiny 1, nor was it expected to carry them through the 10 year plan. There was always (as in most businesses) a plan to supplement initial funding with sales. Destiny 1 was reported making ~$350 million at launch and was also reported as not costing "anything near $500 million for development". The exact trail of money from my pocket to the pockets of all the individual devs that work at Bungie is untraceable. Sure. I'm just saying WE drive this franchise forward with our dollars, it's time to start being smart and acting like we deserve that responsibility. When I say "we pay their salaries" I mean that as in we have every right to be critical and give feedback when necessary. We are the reason that Destiny stays afloat and doesn't run out of money! Is that accurate enough for all you business moguls? 🙄

That's not even the model that is ACTUALLY explained in the contract which [i]YOU[/i] have OBVIOUSLY not read or even researched. Bungie continues to own the intellectual property of its games, and Activision has a 10-year exclusive right to publish them on a variety of platforms and devices. In fact, seeing as Bungie is a PRIVATE COMPANY, the equity remains (newsflash) PRIVATE. Activision owns exactly 0% of Bungie, which is why both Activision AND Bungie phrased their statement like that. There is NO SCENARIO where ownership is even on the table for discussion, and neither party is even interested in that! Another fact from the pages of the contract: Bungie is eligible for a number of performance and sales-based bonuses depending on Destiny meeting certain development milestones and sales goals. That's because while the equity in a private company cannot be traded on a stock exchange and may not otherwise be marketable, there are various means by which private companies can provide long-term equity incentives that may also be liquid investments for employees. Activision, as previously stated, retains the exclusive right to publish all Destiny titles. However, Bungie retains ownership of the Destiny intellectual property regardless of its relationship with Activision. And it certainly retains ownership of itself! ... sigh.

And revisions take time because changing one thing can break everything. Show me an example where you in your actual life accomplished something to perfection that couldn’t get improved with revision or that someone else may have a differing opinion than the quality of the work than you. People are flawed. They make mistakes. Doesn’t mean they can’t make things better. But the high and mighty ripped off victim speak makes you come across as soft as the dickens. Hopefully you are young and have not matured to the level needed to exist because if you have anything more than a decade or 2 on the planet than your parents should be completely ashamed that they taught you absolutely nothing about how the world actually works.
