Its time we have this conversation despite the controversy
I'm sorry but Alakazam isn't even that good of a Pokemon.
Pyschic as a type has been plagued with uninteresting or just outright cringe inducing designs. Alakazam is no exception to this.

4 RepliesI remember when Psychics were broken as all holy hell because for some reason the only Ghost types, their supposed counter, were part poison and therefore [i]weak[/i] to them. Starmie was a good counter due to being part-psychic, thus being able to tank their attacks. Other than that, anything that could hit hard and fast, and eat a couple of heavy hits was the best bet. To this day, I'm still thoroughly baffled by that design oversight...
