I always hate when someone says something like this. Developing a game is just like any other job that takes skill.
I weld and get judged on every weld I make and if it's not good enough guess what? I'm told to re do.
There is no difference. A game is coded and developed by people who went to school and learned how to do it just like people go to school to do any type of job.

Video game programming is infinitely more complex than welding.
-
Are you sure about that? Have you ever had to lay several root passes and make sure that nothing for inside the weld that gets xrayed to make sure that it's completely solid because if not it could leak and cause huge problems?
-
I’m positive of that.
-
Again with people missing the point. The complexity of the job doesn't matter. You shouldn't be free from criticism just because the job you do is more complex.
-
True but the criticism should be fair and accurate and neither is true from this sociopathic shit community
-
Fair and accurate are pretty subjective in a way. For instance, What some people find is fair pricing for this DLC, others will not.
-
Fair price for any product is price at which the seller is willing to part with it. If you want the product you have to pay the asking price. Fair value is always determined by the current owner.
-
Edited by TommyG: 11/17/2017 7:25:24 PMAgain, subjective. True, companies set the price based on what they feel is fair value. I have a choice to buy it at that price or not. I won't. Because personally I don't feel the content is worth the price. It's a small thing in a long list of criticisms I have, and not the worst either.
-
Not subjective. You need to learn the meaning of that word. The only fair price of a product or service is the price the seller sets. That’s not even arguable. Anything less is slavery or stealing. You get to decide if you place enough value on said product or service to pay the asking price. If there are things you don’t like about the design choices Bungie made you may need to do a better job doing your due diligence because none of this was hidden. Buy a different game.
-
So if I place a rolled up ball of paper on eBay and sell it for $100 it's a fair price? Bungie set their price on what they believe to be fair. I have a choice to decide if this that price is fair or not. End of.
-
Waaay more complex You change the name of a gun and bam! Now all psions in the game are Calus, Zavala switches his voice with Cayde, the grass turns red and every time you shoot your gun, a structure dissappear.
-
It’s pretty obvious that you don’t know anything so how about you shut the -blam!- up and stop embarrassing yourself dumbass.
-
Mr. Fun at parties spotted
-
Ooooh burn! What are you 13, 14. Stop making yourself look like a dipshit kid.
-
You must be so triggered, typical child behavior, go back to splatoon kid
-
xD Point Made
-
I get your point, but there is a huge difference.
-
Which is?
-
Fixing a weld and fixing code are worlds apart. Both are equally important within their respective profession, however I feel the comparison the OP is making is quite a stretch.
-
Both, not matter the gap in complexity, aren't free from criticism if the end result is poor. Which is the point.
-
Ok, that’s your take on it, I have mine.
-
What a dumb post!!!
-
Did you just -blam!-ing compare welding to game development 😂 get out..
-
Do you know how to weld? Do you know how to make a weld that is completely solid that will pass every inspection including an xray? Welding is a high level skill
-
Still not comparable to coding.
