Sure, I dont think that developing is easy. But when you are selling a product, and that product is a sequel to a game that had already solved a lot of issues that are currently plaguing the current title, I dont feel bad at all for blaming the developers for being lazy.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 11/16/2017 10:16:14 PMI look at it like a car the original model has its release then often a series 2 or 3 which improves (sometimes) on what precedes it. Sure on occasion a new model turns out to be worse or not as appealing as the previous model on offer but again with the series 2 or 3 hopes to regain what is lost. All boils down to innovation sure its easy to go with a tried and true design but often companies want to try to introduce something new......its just that sometimes whats new falls short of expectations.

Edited by ajm53092: 11/16/2017 10:18:24 PMSure, but destiny did the opposite of introducing new. They went with safe. Too safe. They watered everything down to make it so that no one felt left out of anything. No one can have better gear than this person, no one can have better this, or better that. That first purple chest piece you get is just as good as the one you get from prestige mode challenge mode raid encounters.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 11/16/2017 10:24:51 PMId have to disagree theres not much safe about d2 it was a large risk. If by safe you more meant making it easy and having everything accessible to everyone sure Ill agree. But to release D2 as they have and being so different from D1 was a massive gamble, sadly sometimes gambles dont work out the way they expected. I agree the static rolls are horrible but many complained about the grind in D1 for god rolls so Bungie listened and tried to make it balanced by alowing everyone to have the same rolls on gear. Its result however has reduced replayability and effectively removed the grind hence the main draw card to play the game.

I don't really remember people complaining about god rolls. They went this way so it's easy to balance . Was the worst decision they've made.

The complaints were around them being too hard to get for many they tried to remedy it with the house of wolves rerolling which had the side effect of stopping the grind for them. Now there is no grind just a collectin of static gear so in effect a boring but balanced playing field. (Agree it was a shit move by bungie)
But to release D2 as they have and being so different from D1 was a massive gamble, sadly sometimes gambles dont work out the way they expected.
They released it this way because they saw the exact opposite as a gamble. This happens with a lot of IP.
