This is almost like "make a game yourself and see how you do" response. It's not the players job to understand "how hard" it is as no one gives a damn when you pay money for a product. You want a thank you? Maybe do things right rather than a half assed downgrade to D1 (which was also shit). Let's apply what you said to the master chief collection. Arguably one of the most broken things ever released. Should people have thanked 343 just cause it's "hard" to do 4.5 games in one? Absolutely not, especially when they paid 60$ for a broken product. It's the developers job to make it work and the consumer to judge based off what they get. Furthermore 343 took that task themselves, so maybe they shouldn't have done it if it was hard 🤔furthermore the collection had various things wrong with it besides it's coding. Bungie is flat out incompetent in various areas. How do you go from various pvp mode choices to a quick play and competitive playlist only? Makes sense to have the options out while the player base is at its peak. How do you then go from being able to replay the story in D1 to having the ability to replay a few missions when they are activated on challenges? From picking strikes to not picking strikes? they completely obliterated player choice in this game. You can't even use shaders until you have your final gear in place, unless you're ok with tossing shaders after going up a few light levels and repeating the process. I'm glad you mention the raid. How do we go from the vault of glass to whatever the hell D2 gave us? Bosses don't drop loot, the loot itself is copy and pasted with no raid specific perks anymore. There's far more puzzles when the game is a shooter. The raiding quality has dropped ever since VoG and even VoG had issues. It's to the point where they need to either drop raids entirely and replace it with something else or Seriously think on how to get an Interesting raid setup. Cause raids naturally don't pull in half the player base, but it's an issue when your raids continuously drop in player count after each raid addition due to how BS they are. I don't even play the game anymore but even if I did I'd be avoiding raids entirely, they're not interesting and have only gotten progressively worse. There's more wrong with this game than just coding. You're absolutely right most players won't understand coding, but one doesn't need to understand it to see issues with the game nor does that lack of understanding excuse them from criticizing. It's funny how you're a "developer" but this is what you fail to see. The end product is all that matters, the consumer doesn't care of the process to get there.

  • In response to how we got from VoG to this. It’s because most of the community bitched about the reward system in VoG.

  • This's such a bullshit response. It's up to the developers to implement the best game design possible. If the reaction to "make the game more rewarding and less buggy" is to drip feed players with tokens, eliminate boss drops, and release a raid riddled with glitches, then it's solely on the developers.

  • The community literally asked for ‘tokens’ or more specifically raid ‘shards’ in destiny one. And what is the fundamental difference between tokens and receiving ‘xp’ to rank up? I don’t really see any. If anything it benefits the players because they can stock pile tokens on all three characters and cash them in on the one character they choose.

  • If somebody genuinely asked for all of this shit verbatim, then they're fucking moronic. But from personal experience, I saw a lot of people asking for set drops, more content, and less duplicates. Obviously they didn't get that. Similar games use tokens as well. And that's fine, because they allow you to buy the exact set of gear you want from vendors while also dropping RNG based loot throughout the dungeons and raids. Destiny doesn't do this. To make up for the embarrassing small sum of content, Destiny uses tokens for almost everything. RNG is layered on top of RNG. It quickly gets to the point where engrams become purely cosmetic items because leveling is absurdly restricted to weekly milestones and the occasional exotic drop. While the Raid is largely unrewarding, it is still possible to receive loot from the chest at a random chance. But in addition to this they also have a vendor outside of the Raid which drops random items on a chance based system as well. Why? It's redundant. If you're not going to let players select what they want, then set the gear back to boss drops. You can't even view the Raid gear at the vendor let alone buy what you want. The whole system is a complete mess which strayed too far over the line of trying not to piss people off vs. player retention.

  • I'm not talking about the issues of the game mate. I'm talking about to at least understand that it can not be done from a minute to another. Still getting what you say. Constructive comment, thanks mate!

But it didn't have to be done minute to minute. The dev teams had 3 years between D1 and D2. It's like Bungie didn't learn anything from the three previous years at all. It's not even so much about coding the build as it is where did the lore go and why are things not even remotely acknowledged (ie dreadnought). Why does this game feel sluggish? Why does aim feel like it's off just a bit (idk this could be me but its like every weapon feels different). All the player choice that was removed from builds and play modes. Look the list is literally endless and I do love destiny but I'm very dismayed about this release to the point that I'm not optimistic about the future of destiny.

  • wrong... someone mentioned 3 years and suddenly sheep think the actual game was being worked on fully for 3 years ? are you so simple minded that you really cannot think for yourself ?

  • Its been 3 years dude. Maybe look into what Activions CEO said a mere 2 months after D1s release.

  • You're right it's probably been being worked on for 4 to six years which is even -blam!-ing worse seeing as this is a different engine than what they used for D1. Therefore they had more than enough time to sit down with the live team from year 1-3 of destiny to figure out what they have been doing that they should keep in the game. And if the work was done in less time then the game should never have released to begin with, which in all honesty this game does seem like a last minute school project based on how incomplete it is compared to what we had at the end of destiny 1. Thb if this game was worked on by a second crew in the same company than we have bigger problems, they don't communicate with us so it's not really a surprise they can't communicate internally. The biggest problem being that the crew for D2 was comprised of largely the "talent" behind the TTK expansion which was arguably the turning point for destiny 1 and it becoming a better game should not be lost on people here. It's obvious destiny 2 was not ready for release no matter how much or little time they put in. But if you listen to the vidocs about D2 they make it sound like a godsend they have this new engine because of now much quicker it is to make changes. As for sheep I can't tell which one you are, a defender or attacker of bungie. I'm still playing this game but I'm disappointed with what they did to otherwise some of the better ip in the last decade. The ideas have been squandered and it doesn't matter if the publisher did it or the devs themselves.
