Hey Guys,
Just thought I'd share my opinion on things destiny could have incorporated from a PvE point of view!
Firstly I personally miss the D1 days of the grind, the constant search for that elusive exotic or legendary that just won't drop! The urge to keep grinding because you must have it! I don't like this new "here have everything at once" scenario! People complained in D1 because they didn't have the time to grind to get gear and found it unfair so Bungie catered for them! However where are they now? They're either fully collected and off playing other games with D2 already traded in or they're on the community saying how there's now nothing to do. It's a catch 22 yet all the core players are still here grinding but in a new way, via building clans and teaching! Fun still however not as rewarding as getting loot at the same time! I'm not going to talk about dwindling numbers etc yet surely bungie must realise that D1 grind system had so many more active players? That's just me making an assumption!
From a content point of view, yes there's now nothing left to do, NO it's not because bungie hasn't given us a lot of content but instead they've allowed it to be achieved far too quickly! This isn't fun at all! So had the grind be in place there would be a large amount of those that left that would still be playing trying to get that elusive piece, that god roll (that now doesn't exist)!
From the DLC reveal however a lot of people are focusing on the fact that there's no new raid and that effectively yet again bungie are just doing re-skin after re-skin as let's face it Raid-Lair is just going to probably be a Prison of Elders re-skin! Yet the problem bungie now face is they've focussed so much of the end game over the last 3 years on raids that players ARE going to expect new raids! However had their been sufficient content other than a raid but equally as impressive then yes, fair play no raid but a PoR re-skin :(
Why can't we have a better re-playability, look at games like Diablo, thrive off of replaying the same missions etc but with multiple difficulty and reward factors! Why can't we have various difficulty raids with multiple reward trees and the forever need to goto that next level! Each difficulty tier having a higher power rewards with raid specific perks etc! Why can't you take some of the greatness from some of the other grind games?
Beyond this there could have been a horde mode, christ imagine horde mode where you can enter as a 1-6 guardian fireteam and just endlessly blast aliens in the face till your hearts content... or you die! Each level and each additional guardian bringing higher risk! Provide it with a D1Y3 score system where points convert to tokens which are redeemable via a horde specific vendor for horses specific armour/weapons WITH horde perks!
Why can't we have the strike/raid/crucible specific gear back with the perks relevant to the areas? I DONT WANT to be running around in the same gear everytime! I want loadouts and to switch between weapons and armour for each specific task i undertake! But hey atleast i can change the shader of each armour piece now 🤦♂️
Seriously for me, this game needs to go back to its roots, back to the grind!
Why are you so heavily focused on silly things, aesthetics, shaders! I DONT WANT an emote wheel, why are we so focussed on pulling out an emote instead of grinding for gear! People only want this because they're bored! People only want to rapidly change emotes because they're messin around because there's nothing to do!
This game still has MASSIVE potential, i just fear that bungie no longer see it! The community itself from bungie point of view very rarely even communicates with the community! Yes i know there is smaller player numbers yet EVERYTIME i tweet the division community manager I got a direct response, EVERY TIME! I've never had a response from anyone at bungie about anything! I'm not pointing out that i want them to speak with me i'm just saying that the whole point of a community manager is to engage the community, play WITH the community! Not sure behind a desk and speak cryptically about things the players DONT want.
I enjoy this game i really do however i fear that the 10 year plan is no longer a 10 year plan! I fear bungie have fallen out of love with their own creation! They said in the D2 reveal that they had been playing D2 from home for months and lived it? Seriously? Not one bungie employee thought, guys, after a few weeks we've burned through the content, theirs no grind, players are going to rapidly drop this in between DLC releases?
Please for the love of god listen to your hardcore player base! Listen to those who injected thousands of hours in destiny and still wish to continue! Listen to those of us who WANT the grind back for the re-playability! Please don't continue to make this for the casuals!
Before anyone jumps on that, i'm not saying casuals shouldn't be able to enjoy the game as that's what clans are for! Rewards for being in the clan to help boost you! Having a strong clan available to help teach and guide you when you are in rather than struggling! However for the majority, there's nothing to play for now except to teach new players! In D1 there was ALWAYS something to aim for, the god roll, the elusive gear!
If D2 had the same content as it does now, with 1000 times less rewarding RNG then it'd would still be worth playing from a rewarding point of view!

Yep agree with all of the above, i like pissin around with the emotes though so i do like that update, but i would have rather more time and energy spent on better re-playability than the emote wheel. It did worry me initally when they announced a DLC was coming only 3 months after the launch of D2 which was supposidly bigger than D1. Think Bungie have gone money hungry and are trying to rinse peoples pockets by giving a bigger landscape to play on but not necessarily more content to play. Bump.
