So I generally think about games from a storyline point of view, and I noticed something strange. Your guardian is constantly doing things for the vanguard and your allies. If you play Destiny 2 and chose to transfer your character from D1, then you were presented with a cutscene of all the accomplishments you achieved. But as far as the storyline goes from both games, no other guardians are mentioned.
You never hear of "Shock-9", the Exo titan that completed the VOG before you. From the story line, you completed all the strikes, nightfalls, raids, and defeated all main enemies -Crota, Orix, etc...-, you were the beginning of the new iron lords, you were the first and only guardian to regain your light after the last city was attacked, and defeated GARY.
Granted, you need a fire team for some things, -like the Leviathan- but if there is a cutscene afterwards, only your guardian appears. The only recognition of your deeds that I noticed, was when you visited the vendors and vanguards after the campaign, and they gave a 1-2 sentence long, "thanks". From the storyline point of view, you should be treated as royalty.
I can't be the only one to have noticed this. What's your thoughts on the matter?
