First of all, i´ve had some issues in the game, but never had the problem that it crashed on me all the time.
Spec:
i7 6850k
Ram: 32 3000mhz

The first thing you guys should check is, if you have the NVIDIA driver 388.00, go back to 387.92 for a much stable and better performence, or go up to the newer 388,18.
388.00 gave me super bad FPS, lag, and i could go from higest to lowest, and it still would run in 40 fps, had several friends who downloaded that driver, and i had to tell them to go back to 387.92.
Other issues i found is like people already said, overclocking programs in the background running, when playing Destiny 2, is gonna make the game performance worse, with lag, stuttering, or freeze lag the hole PC.
I´ve came to the conclusion that EVGA Precision X, isn´t the bad guy for me, it was the Asus Ai Suite program for my CPU. After i made sure that was closed when i played, my PC never Freezed when i played with V-sync off, to have higher FPS, and also no stuttering at all, very smooth. Before that i had the issue that made my hole PC freeze for 2 sec in game no and then, with V-sync of, with it on, no problem at all.
Before i came up with the solution, that it were Asus program that made the issue, i updated to the latest windows driver, and also made an BIOS update, cause i thought there were a bigger issue then just a program in the background. I have a friend who is playing with V-sync off, and on a big 4k display, he had never any issue like i have, and also runs Asus program in the background at the same time, so i dont know why that´s not working for me.
Make also sure that you have an super stable overclocked on your CPU, cause i´ve seen issue with that in Destiny aswell.
Anyways, maybe this give some peps a bit of help!
/Cheers
