I am left-handed and use my right hand on the keyboard. I like to have ESDF as my movement keys instead of WASD because I find that to be more comfortable. Yes the in-game settings allow for changing these settings however you cannot change the Menu navigation keys. To go from the Character Screen to the Inventory Screen still is AD as well as changing viewpoints upon death WS. Also you can't change the Compare gear key from Q.
I have dealt with this by remapping keys in my Keyboard software however that makes the tool-tips really not helpful. (So yes I can deal with it I just want to know if I can fix it in a better way). And I then had to remap F so that I could dismantle gear. It would be much easier if I had more freedom to bind.
On StarCraft there is a hotkey file that you can change and allows you to add more hotkeys than the in-game key-bindings allow (i.e. rapid fire feedback.) I'm sure there is such a file in the D2 folders would I get banned for trying to edit it for my own sanity?
To sum up I'm wondering if I can edit the keybindings file or will that be a ban-able offense? Because I won't do it until I get some confirmation.
P.S I want the game client on my secondary screen. Can't seem to make that happen. No I don't want to change my primary display because reasons. Yes I tried windowed, click and drag. Yes I tried windows key + arrow...

Not sure about the key bindings, but
I want the game client on my secondary screen.
What worked for me was to move the blizzard app to the screen I wanted to play the game with. It still occasionally resets back to the other monitor, but then I just ALT+ENTER for windowed mode and then drag it, then back to fullscreen.
