Looking through the forum posts about last Faction Rally there was actually a surprising number of people complaining that the destructibles in lost sectors only gave tokens to the player who got last hit. There was also a problem with people farming the lost sectors loot cave style. So it seems pretty obvious they would make this change and pretty obvious that the PR dept would make them word it as they did. So its not a lie as you claim it to be. I think you need to calm down and stop witch hunting everything Bungie posts.

Nobody complained about that. It's called taking turns.

Actually people did complain about it because they couldn't cheese it as a group

Don't defend a bad decision. They could have easily given every member of the fireteam a token for destroying them.

Not defending a bad decision in my opinion. Players were cheesing the event, it needed to be fixed. Players were also complaining that they couldn't get those rewards as a team so they added the rewards for completion instead so the entire group gets tokens and lost sectors cant be cheesed for ridiculous gains anymore. The only thing players can complain about is that they got their cheese taken away and that's a silly thing to be salty about.

Cheesy or not, there's no incentive to play the sectors otherwise. The weapons are trash, the shaders are limited use and you get them randomly, so you might end up with the one of two that you have no intention of ever using, the armor is cloned, and the only way to get the tokens is by doing content that you've been doing for going on 2 months. I don't think people are mad at the cheese. I think they're mad at the fact that the time in for reward out is exceedingly low. If you spent 3 minutes clearing out a sector and got 5 tokens I guess it'd be alright. But if you compare that to things like strikes or Nightfalls which give a RANDOM AMOUNT OF TOKENS between a set amount, it becomes an unfair grind. Why should one teammate get 18 tokens while the others get 13 and 15? You were all in the strike together, everyone should receive the same amount. If they want to make a method of grinding faction tokens equally rewarding, then they should apply that logic to all methods of acquiring those tokens.
