Unfortunately, at this point I think the only people who aren't disappointed are the people who don't realize Destiny us a franchise that is meant to be played constantly(they just think of it as another "play the story, max your character, done." game like Dead Space,Resident Evil, etc) and the people who only have three or four hours a week to play, so they haven't reached the hole in the endgame.
Then there are a few ultrafans who are just going to play pvp for whatever reason(although after a few hours of rotating modes I can't see how they don't move on), but those are extremely few in number.
It's funny, the console players fade away more every day, but the PC release had the effect of creating an artificial bump in playership just as it was at the point where Bungie needed to change the game or die.
Now, Bungie gets a few more weeks grace period. Then the next DLC drops. At that point playership will rise again for a month or so, at which point Bungie can claim success for their new business model.
In other words, I don't see an end to this token system or shallow loot pool any time soon.
