I'm not usually very critical of Bungie, but this is a pathetic lie.
Just reading the update news and noticed this... This is a sad ass lie period. They didn't like the fact that during the last faction rally, people simply destroyed the items for tokens and farmed to the max number of packages without having to mind numbingly complete the useless sectors every time.
If they wanna make this change to try and keep people playing longer, that's what should be said, not this sad ass lie about wanting to do sectors with a fireteam. Like whose ass did they even pull that out of. Not even a good lie for christs sake. smh. I'm sure I'm like many people who wont even bother to touch this faction crap after the first one anyway but damn Bungie, grow some -blam!-ing balls and tell the truth...

7 RepliesLooking through the forum posts about last Faction Rally there was actually a surprising number of people complaining that the destructibles in lost sectors only gave tokens to the player who got last hit. There was also a problem with people farming the lost sectors loot cave style. So it seems pretty obvious they would make this change and pretty obvious that the PR dept would make them word it as they did. So its not a lie as you claim it to be. I think you need to calm down and stop witch hunting everything Bungie posts.

Like, after a few matches in crucible, when I get frustrated; like I do every night, after about the third or fourth match in a row, of Supremacy; and getting shot through walls, shot by phantoms that are nowhere to be seen, until they step out from behind a wall 2-3 seconds later, and last but not least, pouring a whole magazine worth of Origin Story rounds, directly into the enemy's head, for it to only lower their shield, while their Origin Story is somehow able to kill me in that time. Then I'll probably half-@ss complete a few of them, on whichever planet also has the Public Event Milestone on it, that way I can complete both at the same location. Then I'll probably just go back to crucible, and pull my hair out for the rest of the week. I was lucky enough to get one of the "Kill Tracker Ghosts" that has both the +10% experience AND the extra faction consumables in the crucible perks on it. So I'll just take whatever I get from that, and not bother with the lost sectors, other than the few that I do on whichever planet had the Public Event Milestone. Just being honest.

Completely agree, im devastated that this is what we're given, I love Bungie and been there since Halo, but this is a joke and I feel so played and suckered.

Yeah I laughed when I read that on the TWAB. They nerf farming and they make it sound like they did us a favor and that it's what we asked for.

7 RepliesEveryone will just farm the public events like they do with everything else. The game may as well have no strikes, no adventures or anything else, just public events. The games a bit broken if I'm honest. Everything can be gotten from public events.

I actually had this problem. We couldn't blast the zones with a buddy and both get tokens, we had to alternate who would shoot them and then just ended up gaming alone

No idea whether it is a lie or not but I still completed the lost sectors anyway as well as destroying the crates. Presumably I was doing it wrong ? No big deal I am not playing D2 at the moment anyway.

Bungie is a large business, and like any business, they have a PR department. And when they have to make a change, their PR bunch tries to put a positive spin on it. Remember when Nolandroid replaced Dinklebot? Bungie put a very nice "oh we're so happy to be working with Nolan North, a veteran voice actor who's done so much cool stuff" spin on things, but it was really "we hired Peter Dinklage to play Ghost and now he can't be bothered to record new stuff so we're just erasing him". If you're going to get triggered and throw a hissy every time someone's PR department pulls that perfectly normal behavior, you're going to wind up in an anger management class. Remember what Gwyneth Paltrow said in "Sliding Doors" (right at the start, before the whole "time split" thing): "We're in PR, that's what we do: bulls***, bulls***, bulls***."

They really are lost. Oh and the things that people complain about take MONTHS to fix while the things that benefited players/weren't issues are patched within a few weeks at most.

6 RepliesI like the new way better. I did Lost Sectors with friends that were pledged to different factions, and we would up taking turns getting tokens. Your post is your view, but I do want to ask... If you're already in the Lost Sector getting tokens, why not loot the Lost Sector anyway?

Once again, Bungie fiddling with something just for the sake of fiddling with something. Get your coonhands off my game! Seriously though, I barely did any of the Faction Rally last time, and I think this was the best way to get tokens. I didn't farm either, I just did challenges and got enough tokens for some loot. I am going to try to get a complete gear set, I only have gauntlets, and I am also going to try to get some guns.
