Just reading the update news and noticed this... "We noticed that players felt Lost Sectors were useful, but disliked the fact that they couldn’t enjoy them with a fireteam, so we moved the faction tokens from the destructible items to the chest at the end of the activity. The destructibles will still be featured as a daily milestone and are still available to help your fireteam clear out the Lost Sector."

This is a sad ass lie period. They didn't like the fact that during the last faction rally, people simply destroyed the items for tokens and farmed to the max number of packages without having to mind numbingly complete the useless sectors every time.
If they wanna make this change to try and keep people playing longer, that's what should be said, not this sad ass lie about wanting to do sectors with a fireteam. Like whose ass did they even pull that out of. Not even a good lie for christs sake. smh. I'm sure I'm like many people who wont even bother to touch this faction crap after the first one anyway but damn Bungie, grow some -blam!-ing balls and tell the truth...
-
Im still dumbfounded that people bought this game.

The problem too is there is not point to Strikes IMO. In the time it takes to do one you can get through several public events. This is the main reason people would do the quick re spawning of the crates to get tokens. It's a simple fix. GET RID OF THE TOKENS!!
-
If they truly noticed that players liked doing it as a fire-team (and cared), then why not allow a full team or greater to enter patrol areas?
-
Whatever way they can suck the fun out... they will. Content was lacking during the last rally and we found it in the form of running into a lost sector solo, trying to stay alive long enough to smash 6-7 crates, and the whole rinse-repeat scenario. Not saying it wasn’t an exploit, but it felt somewhat similar to the Omnigul farm which was a blast. Fix an exploit if you want, but don’t BS people saying they complained they couldn’t do it as a fireteam.

Edited by SmashvilleViking: 11/3/2017 9:50:32 PMIt's not really a lie. People couldn't enjoy the tokens with a fireteam. People ran solo so they didn't have to split the tokens. Why run with a fireteam, and get 4 or 5 tokens, when you could run solo and get 12? Now, it sounds like everyone will get the same amount from the chest (which is where they should have been to begin with).
-
Bungie: we see that players got the most tokens from doing these super awesome, never boring and repetitive heroic public events so we are taking swift action to make them more rewarding and decreasing the tokens you get from doing them Everyone: huh?
-
Lost sectors early on in the game where cool at first but quickly lost their touch and are utterly useless. Except for the faction stuff but even then that has its own faults too.
-
whoooooooo.. does lost sectors ????_???? WHOMSTVE??? only have a use during faction rally so idk who they thought they were getting over on.. Oh wait... The majority of this oblivious fking community!!
-
Nothing new. They have lied out their a$$ and been control freaks for as long as I can remember. It's the Bungie way.
-
"we noticed players felt lost sectors were useful..." That right there is the lie
-
Even if it was true, of all the things wrong in the game this is the one thing they addressed. Pathetic.
-
They (Bungie) made a lot of mistakes with this game imo, just as many of the forums have already stated, and this is again another mistake! Bungie, for your own sake just be honest with what you're doing, that's the ONLY WAY to score kudos with your "fanbase". This lying (thanks OP for sharing this and pointing it out) doesn't help you and anyone else one bit, it just looks awful! Just inform your customers with what you're doing, even if that made a portion of them sad/angry/disapointed but be HONEST FFS! Really hope they get back on track and fix the issues that arte currently ingame, they really have a lot of work to do if they want to keep the people playing their game..
-
I have never said, hmm wish my fireteam was here to help with this lost sector. I never once saw that in the forums anywhere on either here or reddit.
-
Instead of farming a destroctable in a sector, then now want us to play strikes to get those tokens. Or in other words, they want us to play longer activity’s for tokens. Longer activity’s, mean longer time players are logged in. Thats there aim, nothing else. Because then they will use those numbers to make a statement thats a complete lie again.

This isn't a salty post or a bungie-luv post either. It's a serious question about the mentailty of consumers today. I noticed this division on the forum of people either accepting the product as it is or others calling out the maker for faults that clearly and/or assumingly exist. What's odd is that the "accepters" acknowledge some of the faults, they know there are problems, but not only accept them, they defend them! Even go as far as giving the excuses for the maker of the product. As an active commission only sales person for decades, I would have loved these types of consumers! They never existed though. At least I never came across them. If I ever sold an inferior, faulty, or falsely advertised product I'd either loose the customer, refund, exchange, or something. Look, when an automaker makes a car, they won't advertise the seatbelts. We assume they are with the car. We don't expect to pay extra for them as an add on later. Also, if the previous model had lights, windshield wipers, and wheel, it's assumed those would be on the new car as well. We also assume that after making a previous model or models, the newer version will have advancements and be fine tuned from the previous model. Problems from before would be no issue anymore. If the maker advertised, said, or in some way conveyed the car would get 40 mpg, we'd expect to get at least 40 mpg. If we buy the car and only get 30 mpg, there would be a class action lawsuit and recall (true story). I can't imagine a new car owner saying, "...well the last model was faulty too and it took them three years to get to fixing the several issues my car had. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt again, and this time let them get to the dozen of issues with this newer model over the next three or four years. Maybe the next model will be better! I'll preorder once again." Most normal, logical, sensible people would never give that automaker another look. Seriuosly, I can not imagine that anyone on these forums would accept poor service at a restaurant, lousy customer service at a store, willingly be okay with a faulty mattress purchase, or anything of the sort. I understand this is just a game, but there is still a point here. When did people start becoming so compliant? Just accepteing the slop plopped in front of them? These "accepters" are called "lay downs" in the sales business. Can you imagine the spouses they settled for? The cars they drive? I'm just imagining them sounding like Eeyore with their gloomy, depressed, anhedonic retorts of "that's the way it is." I honestly think it comes down to this. Sometimes we fight with ourselves, and defend ourselves from others, for being so stupid as to fall for the same trick. We don't want to look stupid, so we devoutly defend our decision. The "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." is a tough pill to swallow. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

Wanna make lost sectors and patrol in general better? Have an option to turn the difficulty up to 11. Destiny 1 vanilla levels of Nightfall modifiers.
-
You're misreading it. If you had somebody with you when you destroyed the cargo, only the person that destroyed it got the faction tokens. Now the fireteam can all get the tokens when you open the chest at the end. This is not a lie. It is however not as important as any of the other issues currently in the game. Just the fact that they would spend time on this is mind-numbing.

Edited by CookieNiki: 11/3/2017 9:49:21 PM
This is a sad ass lie period. They didn't like the fact that during the last faction rally, people simply destroyed the items for tokens and farmed to the max number of packages without having to mind numbingly complete the useless sectors every time.
So much true. That was exactly my conclusion the very first time I read this week TWAB. They don't have the balls to say they don't want us to play that way so they come with the COMPLETELY FALSE argument that the players don't like to play Lost Sectors without a fireteam. Never saw anyone complaining that Lost Sectors were no fun or difficult without a fireteam. NEVER! I defy them to show proofs of what they're stating. Bunch of liars! They want to force friendship down everyone's throats. Look how they nerfed the amount of faction tokens given by completing Public Events but increased them in Nightfalls and Strikes.
-
Sometimes I wonder if it will be a good for bungie to just let the game subscription base. If the game is awful just leave and at least you wont pay a full price game..
-
It actually makes sense. During the last faction rally I was looting lost sectors, and there were 2 explodable boxes for each lost sector. Because only the player who shoots these boxes can get the reward, people who are in fireteams might not get any faction tokens from a lost sector. This fix guarantees reputation tokens at the completion of a lost sector. I don't see the big deal.
-
I'm still confused by so many fellow gamers. This game really wasn't worth $60, yet so many of you are still here. Why is that? I myself haven't touched this mess in 3 weeks and I'm only on the forum when my son is using the PS4. Yeah, I get it that this franchise had a ton of potential, but after 3+ years it's pretty obvious to me that Bungie just isn't up to the task of getting the job done.
-
Games dying, lets nerf tokens so they grind more. Bungle logic.
-
I don’t even go into lost sectors anymore unless I’m with a full fire team and we’re all 305 light level. It’s like solo’ing a prestige Nightfall. They’re just so hard!!!!

Edited by Technohydra: 11/3/2017 7:45:05 PMActually, this is a complaint that I heard fairly frequently the last time around. Going in a group meant splitting up the tokens, and that made the Lost Sectors a no-go for parties. On top of that, destructibles spawning was dynamic, sometimes there was one, sometimes there were 4 or 5. This way, a team can go in, smash the sector in 30 seconds, and all get 3 tokens, 100% of the time. In the end, it might actually end up being faster than destroying resources, since all you have to do is dump rockets, grab the box, go to the next one.in 5 minutes, you can grab 9 tokens just in one area of the EDZ, plus probably snag a heroic event in the process for more tokens. Some of you might not have heard this as a complaint. On the other hand, my clan of over 80 was griping about it to no end, and it seems like that was addressed. Either way, I think it's stupidly easy to get tons of tokens and max out on the event, so it really shouldn't be that big of an issue.
