Hi Folks,
Everything has been fine since launch as I had an external monitor hooked up to the laptop while I played with a controller. Game is really well optimised so on my i7 16gb DDR4 and GTX 1050ti I was getting a solid 60fps with a mixture of medium to high settings at 1080p.
Tonight however I need to change to the default laptop screen with mouse and keyboard for Raiding. It's a 4k screen from the Dell Inspiron Gaming line last year.
The issue was I could not for the life of me get Fullscreen active. So I googled. It seems Bungie are aware of this and have issued a statement to use Windowed Fullscreen as a workout around.
Thing is when I have this active my FPS goes from 60 down to 35-40 and the game feels very sluggish, and not sluggish as in FPS it's like there is some latency or lag.
I plugged my external monitor back in and was able to put Fullscreen back on (the external monitor is a native 1080p monitor) and the FPS jumped back up to a solid 60 and the sluggishness dissipated.
Is there any clarification available on this or when the native laptop screen issue will be fixed? I need to play on the laptop itself for raiding and can't use the external monitor.
Thanks all at Bungie <3

I found a small workaround for this for anyone else having a similar issue. This only applies if you're trying to run a 1080p resolution in game on a 4k screen (Mine is the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series laptop from last year). So like I said I was getting really sluggish gameplay and 35-40 fps in Windowed Fullscreen mode. To temporarily resolve this I did the following: 1) Right click on your empty monitor screen ans choose Display Settings 2) Scroll down to Display Adapter Properties 3) In Display Adapter Properties under the 'Adapter' tab click on 'List All Modes' 4) Scroll until you find 1920*1080 (32bit , 60hertz) 5) Select this mode and apply Remember this is only an issue if you're trying to run Destiny 2 on a 4k laptop in Windowed Fullsceen mode without inducing any lag or fps loss. This fix worked for me and the sluggishness has gone and my FPS is back up to 60 with a mixture of high and medium settings. Changing the resolution of the laptop monitor in a traditional sense didn't work, it was only going into 'List All Modes' that fixed it for me. Hope this helps until the Laptop Fullscreen bug is fixed.
