Below are some of my suggestions and thoughts on how the endgame could be improved.
RAID LOOT SUGGESTIONS
Each Raid boss/encounter should have a unique loot table that consists of:
- Energy weapon
- Kinetic weapon
- Heavy weapon
- 1 or 2 Armor pieces per class
- Maybe a exclusive exotic drop on some not all
- Raid vendor tokens
Final Raid boss encounter should have a unique loot table that consists of:
- Energy weapon
- Kinetic weapon
- Heavy weapon
- Exclusive Exotic Weapon
- Exclusive Exotic Armor piece
- 2-3 Armor pieces per class
- Raid vendor tokens
Raid vendor should offer:
- Raid set gear that does NOT drop in the raid
- Each piece of raid set gear should cost between 50-100 tokens (Making it a grind to get them all and encourage running the raid every week)
- When you equip 4/5 pieces of raid set gear it activates a unique interesting set bonus (example: Build up light when damaging enemies until you gain "Overcharged-light" affect takes over your grenade slot until used, can be thrown at enemies to cause massive AOE damage. OR Chance to cause additional damage on all attacks... etc...)
CLAN REWARDS SUGGESTIONS
Clan rewards should still be available with minor tweaks:
-Clan rewards loot table should be given at a max light level cap that is slightly lower than gear that is available through actually participating in endgame activities (Example: if Raid/Trials gear drops at a cap of 350 Light, the max you can get from clan rewards should be 330-340, still encouraging players to participate in these activities)
-Clan rewards should not include any encounter exclusive loot
STRIKES LOOT SUGGESTIONS
Strikes should provide a greater value proposition for the player
-Strike encounters should also have unique loot tables
-Strikes should offer exclusive legendary armor and weapons that are valuable and meaningful
-Heroic strikes should be available
-Choosing specific strikes should be available, to allow players to hunt for the specific loot drops
LOST SECTORS SUGGESTIONS
Lost sectors should offer unique rewards making them more valuable to the player:
-Sparrows
-Ghosts
-Weapons
-Armor
-Emotes
-Ships
Maybe lost sectors could be worked into some hidden quests?
PUBLIC EVENTS
Public events should have a loot table specific to each planet/destination encouraging players to farm public events on other locations. - This could also be left alone just with a open world loot table that does not include any of the loot specific to other activities.
GENERAL
Ghosts
-Add more interesting bonuses to ghosts
-Add stats to ghosts
-Add light level to ghosts
Weapons
-Add upgrade-able weapons that encourage spending time and effort building up favorite weapons and allowing some customization or choices with stats/perks
-Add class & subclass specific weapons that add synergy to specific classes and or subclasses
Armor
-Add armor set bonuses for equipping a number of pieces in a set
-Add upgrade-able weapons that encourage spending time and offer building up favorite weapons and allowing some customization or choices with stats/perks
Sub-classes
-Give the subclass system a overhaul, providing more freedom and depth
-Allow players to have the freedom to make choices and specialize their character in unique ways
-Avoid creating a linear path with no freedom or choice
-Allow players to build synergy with their loot/items/gear to feel like their characters grows more powerful when built correctly.
-This will open room for experimentation and freedom
Give players something to strive for and fight for something to look forward to and sink their time into that provides meaningful rewards that make their characters truly unique and powerful. The spirit of the game has been one where you seek out powerful armor and weapons to become more powerful and prestigious. Create a tier system that allows for progression and a clear paths to gaining more powerful weapons and armor for completing exciting endgame activities, long or difficult chain quests that require you to complete endgame activities etc.
