Feedback. Opinions. Lots of them.

I feel like Bungie is doing fine with d2. Yes, there are obvious places where improvements can be made. Yes, I think the lore aspect could be a little clearer in terms of voice lines not quite adding up here and there. Yes, I think they could have made actual gun models for the Iron banner guns instead of reusing gunsmith models. But it's the release of the game, it just finished. We flew through it, as gamers do. We absorbed it all immensely quickly, and found its flaws, again, as gamers do. There could have been a more developed end game, yes yes I've watched all the complaints and seen all the arguments, and I think bungie is working on it, and judging by the recent work in progress patch notes they've given, it doesn't sound bad yet. Before everyone goes on a witch hunt, let them develop the game a bit more. Now, with that schpeal out of the way, here's my immediate thoughts and feedback from what I've seen. ~There needs to be some way to reduce flinch in the Crucible. I'm not sure if this is already implemented to a degree and we haven't noticed it, or if it's just not there. I'm not saying high caliber needs nerfed or anything, but the core game mechanic. I feel like when you're moving, the flinch should be the worst on your character, and when crouching and/or aiming down sights, it should be reduced. Not by extremes in either case, but just enough to be noticable, maybe enough to encourage a slight change in playstyle. I feel like this change could also make sniper rifles a bit more viable again because being stationary, crouched, and aiming down sights would all be things an actual sniper would do, and they would increase the concentration of said sniper, making them react less to flinch and outside forces. ~There also needs to be an end game in some capacity. I know bungie is already working on this one, I just want to offer ideas. I love the feedback I've seen where the npcs had full shops and you chose what to purchase and whatnot, I'd also recommend the same thing if I had thought of it before them. But I think a more pressing matter in the game is that light doesn't actually do much besides tell players they've played long enough to try out the next part, strikes, nightfall, the raid, trials, etc etc. This could be in adding some sort of pvp where the light variable is removed and it's all sweaty 305 light people that live for pvp and being the best at the game. ~Continuing on the end game argument, perhaps a planet could be added that's procedurally generated that the longer you're there, the more you travel, and the more enemies you kill, the higher the enemy light gets. Of course in this style of world you would have to consider that the soft light cap would have to be removed, it wouldn't be like going to the edz and dying to shanks after hitting level 20. Your light would be accurate to the number at all times and as you progress the enemies would catch up to you and eventually pass you in terms of difficulty and as that happened the drops could reflect that, either by the light increasing or the chance for higher rarity increasing throughout the process. This may be the idea that's already in the works since I've already heard something about a procedurally generated world coming at some point, but I still feel it's a good idea to voice the opinion in case it could give the team more ideas. ~From what I'm seeing everyone and their mother is complaining that the prestige raid completion is a waste of time since it's only visual gear you'll get, and I'm not going to agree or disagree with them. I see both sides of it and won't complain. It's fair to say I might not even attempt the prestige raid because it doesn't seem necessary to my completion, but eventually I'll probably do it if I get confident enough in my own abilities and the people I would be attempting it with's abilities. I would also argue that there could be perhaps past release gear that could drop from it (faction guns, iron banner, things that might not come back or not be available at all times), maybe exclusive emblems from completing it, just some additional incentives to do it multiple times. ~Just a pet peeve of mine and one I'm sure has been drilled into bungie already, but the fact that Shaxx proclaims veteran players as Saladin's young wolf and then Saladin himself doesn't even acknowledge the player any differently kind of bugged me. I'm sure it was an oversight, might have been other instances already, but continuity is imperative in games like this where story keeps the whole thing ticking and I'd love to feel like playing in d1 actually made a difference, even if in the end it actually didn't. ~Next, I think there's a neat alternative to randomized rolls that everyone keeps begging for in d2. I heard that every so often things like eververse and iron banner drops will change between seasons, not sure if it will be every single season but I like the idea. I also think it could be an insanely good idea to also cycle the rolls on every gun that drops in said season at those times. For example, Uriel's gift dropping with high caliber rounds and steady rounds as it does right now, and next season Uriel's gift dropping with flared magwell and extended mag. It would give meaning to owning multiple of the same guns, players coming back for more than one season of the game, and diversifying the guns you see in places like Crucible over time. I would assume exotics would be an exception to this since you can't change the perks on them to begin with, but I feel it would be a great, almost necessary change to keep the game interesting over time. ~On the same line as the previous idea, a way to get previously seen rolls on guns could be to add a list of legendary items that xur could sell as well, be it a fixed list or an engram-style purchase, and all of those items would have a past season roll that isn't currently obtainable through normal means. The same could be done in my even further previous mentions on the prestige raid, adding past rolls or even randomized rolls (if you were so inclined to put randomized rolls back in at all) on items you get from prestige quests, making them immensely more appealing to complete. ~Finally, regardless of what changes get implemented in the game, the vault needs to be increased in size, whether it be via glimmer purchase, silver purchase, just a base increase, or whatever it takes. I only keep one of each weapon in my vault and I've already filled it. If more content is added it will further increase my strain on space, making it harder to collect what I enjoy spending my time in the game to collect. Anyway thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope some of these will be considered and implemented, even if they're adapted to some extent. I love destiny 2, and I hope the game flourishes over the course of its time.
