1) [i]Some[/i] people were banned in the beta and possibly some immediately after the beta from investigations that started late. They just didn't know it yet because they didn't or couldn't log in since it only lasted a week. 2) [i]Some[/i] people were banned in the beta and assumed they wouldn't be banned still because they thought it was only for the beta. 3) [i]Some[/i] people are not banned, they're [i]suspended[/i]. People throw around the word "ban" incorrectly when they were told "temporarily banned", all the time. They either don't know or don't care that there's actually a difference. 4) [i]Some[/i] people lie and say they're innocent when they aren't. Happens all the time. 5) [i]Some[/i] people think they're not going to get caught for anything by turning off cheat stuff they use for other games that could have been still detected existing on their computer. Some game developers do that. 6) Some people [i]think[/i] it's thousands when it is still only a few hundred who were permanently banned, because some people exaggerate.
