My youngest kid has put the game down. D2 is not made for kids either.

The youngest of us that plays. 14 Has the most time of the 3 of us that play in our house. I suspect More time in D1 than me and his older brother combined. Has 3 characters now over 280 with no raiding, nightfall, or trials. He's only a pve player at this point. He's put the game down for now and is back playing what is actually a pretty good Roblox game. I asked him why and he said the progression rewards hit too much of a wall right now. When we spoke we agreed that since he's not doing any "endgame" stuff it will be harder and he understands that and accepts that the grind will be longer. He didn't do those things early in D1 either and he said it was still way more rewarding. Keep in mind he loves the weapons and the subclasses and many of the other "mechanics" changes from D1. My other post about this game not be going made for casuals, despite what dome day, was well received. This time I'm saying it's not made for kids either, despite what some also say. Add in: So the question for Bungie is who is it actually made for.

I guess it took your son to see the truth finally. This game Isn't rewarding at all. I have explained this many times and gamers keep wanting to compare content versus incentive. It doesn't work and the proof for that is how little content D1 actually had and the incentive was twice of what D2 has offered. Now hard mode running the raid has no weapons in D2? I guess this friends game Luke smith said about must be true. We wont reward you at all, but hay, You got friends that will suffer with ya lol

More for someone that's not going to rush through the game and try to get max level and end game content like a hardcore player and not a casual player that plays till they get bored or stuck and then doesn't come back or might come back for DLC. It's more for the regular player that takes there time with the content, plays weekly, (not everyday) and gets to the max level and end game gradually, comes back for DLC, and sticks with the game through it's life cycle. That's just my take on it, but who knows what their intent really is/was.

                • This game was never built for unlimited enjoyment. That wall was inevitable with any style of play. Unless you are capable of running back PVP, Destiny 2 is just not equipt to deal out endless pursuit. Some RNG factors aside, D1 was no different. And even then, this community is so divided on what type of 'grind' they actually want.

I used to mock whiny players on this board and that they needed "safe spaces" in the game for them. Looks like Bungie took that literally. The whole game is one big "safe space".

                    • You must be insane this game is certainly for casuals. I had 3 305s and every exotic weapon and most exotic armor after 5 weeks. That’s ridiculous. I beat the prestige raid got my crappy emblem and ornament and now the game is dead for me. This game caters to those who lack the effort to complete real end game content so they just give it all away. Heck you can get every raid item without even raiding through the clan system.

                        • I have to disagree with the progression of this game compared to D1, anyone remember "forever 24" and "Forever 29?" There was no progression to the end in D1 if you didn't finish the raid. It really wasn't even until the Rise of Iron release that you could even imagine reaching the cap without doing the raid, nightfall, or trials. I can understand being disgruntled at being unable to continue to the end without doing the raid, trials, or nightfall, but their view of D1 progression is a little skewed. No hate, just a thought.

                          • I remember when players first heard bop3 wasn't going to be on the ps3 and made a big deal about it. This was when next gen was booming, I saw no big deal about it being next gen only. Then they decided to let another dev team make bop3 for the ps3 and players clowned them like " lel this is a cool Minecraft mod but where is bop3?". Destiny 2 kinda reminds me of that kind of low quality ps3 bop3 work.....feels like...why even bother if you were going to half ass it? Lel

                            • Appointment gaming is not a good design as many people have said. People would rather have the option to play at their own pace rather than the developers dishing out the next piece of the game the following week. In Looters and RPGs, it is more rewarding to work through the mass of content available rather than compile the weekly appointments. So Yeah, many of us are going to simply wait for a year before we play.

                            • Sounds about right. I bought D2 like 3 weeks ago. I bought Shadow of War a couple days ago. My wife said, "But didn't you just buy Destiny 2?" All I could do was sigh and say "Yup, I'm done with it." "But you play Destiny every night for a couple hours before bed!" "Not anymore." Was an avid D1 player since launch. Logged as much time in it as real life allowed. Rarely skipped a day. Feels weird saying it out loud like that, but yeah they absolutely killed what Destiny was and the way in which they killed it is practically irreversible considering it is flawed on such a basic and fundamental level. Shadow of War has been fun though lol.

                              • Bungie and Activsion; they more money you spend, the better time they have with the game. Your money + their pockets = good time = Destiny 1 and 2 = Great Game hmmm....so.... Your time + Your money + their pockets = Destiny anywho....video games aren't actually made for kids and to be honest it seems like they don't put much effort into their game but that could simply be because they are trying to be a corporation in hopes of getting paid but it is backfiring super hard right now and they don't even see it.
