I got more loot running the D2 raid twice than I did in TWELVE clears of VoG during Vanilla Destiny. Grind isn't content, and progression that is completely out of the players control isn't "deeper". It's just broken and exploitative. It's why people were shooting into monster closets in vanilla Destiny. Year 3 Destiny1. had more because it was the accumulation of 2 DLCs, two majors expansions, multiple free updates, and by AoT three years worth of raids. No base game is going to launch with that. Ever.
