I had fun at the beginning of the journey. Then I don't know what happened. The final nail in the coffin for me was the absence of prestige raid rewards.
This time around I had the belief that D2 would pick up where year 3 left off. Not a few steps behind vanilla. I am Jack's broken dream.
How are you guys finding the game at this point? How are you spending your time when online? Or are you taking a break till the expansion?
Edit: Trending. I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It isn't satisfying for me that this post has so many people in agreement. I respect that the developers put in long hours and massive amounts of energy to craft Destiny 2. I understand that the product at launch is a foundation that will be built on in time. However, when you review the constructive feedback and the similar ideas from a variety of Guardians. It is genuinely surprising that Bungie didn't anticipate these issues would eventuate. Sadly this culminates in a validation of the title. At this point in time "D2 is Disappointing".

The problem was Bungie pandering to the crowd of people who don't like grinding/don't have the time to play. They've watered down the experience for them and this has stunted the enjoyment for the rest of us.

Here's hoping for destiny 3.
-
It’s like they haven’t learned anything after 3 years, they just reverted it back to vanilla destiny with less replayability

Edited by SIMPLEJACK318: 10/22/2017 4:28:37 AMIt's terrible. I forced myself to play it for a month, but all the terrible changes are just too much. Even when I do log on, I just have no motivation to play. They sucked every ounce of fun out of the game with this sequel. I deleted it off my PS4 today. Hooray!!!! If I play anything it will be D1 pvp.
-
I did not buy the season pass. I'll wait til the forums start showing positive signs before I commit any more dollars to this flop of a franchise.
-
I like it but I'm prob a casual. Only get to play 5 to 10 hrs a week and such. Raid has been difficult for me as lfg and calus don't go well together. I think they'll make some additions for the hardcore player base. But overall I'm happy. Once again a casual

Instead of whining mindlessly about the game about stuff you seen on Youtube, you should detail what about the game you don't like. I, for one, am patiently waiting for the PC release :D. The PC beta was absolutely amazing.

Sigh. Muted.

Bump!! Long live D1

Free World of Tanks, free Fortnite, free MGS on PSPlus this month keeps me playing. Plus Ive picked up playing Fallout4 again, the amount of fun mods that game got right now... many hours of gameplay there. Havent really played Destiny 2 much since half way through Iron Banner. The game is not fun. And 'friendship' barely saves the few minutes Ive logged on since Iron Banner. My friends list is filled with people playing other games. Its not worth playing any longer, sadly.

Edited by Lee Ames: 10/22/2017 8:20:42 AMA few months ago I was chatting to my clan mates, saying how much I was looking forward to Destiny 2 and imagining what improvements would come with the sequel to our favourite game. We were imagining 6 man fire teams for every activity. Strikes involving vehicles, similar to Halo 5's Warzone Firefight. Dragons. New enemy races. New sub classes. Maybe a new guardian? Instead, we got a game that is more like a prequel to Destiny 1, Destiny zero. This game should have been an add on to Destiny 1 imo, the improvements (graphics update, new areas, new strikes, new raid and better public events) should have been added to the original game over 2 or 3 DLC's. I'm annoyed that I paid for all the other stuff, as I don't like it. In fact I hate the other stuff (static rolls, consumable shaders, no bounties ect ect ect ect)

Edited by Sire Belmont: 10/22/2017 2:58:28 AMThis is "Diet Destiny", a sequel to Year 1 in D1, not Year 3 in D1. Therefore, I'll just go back to Destiny 1. Played it (D1) for 11 straight hours today helping out new players and even guided a married couple who were new to Destiny, through the first 3 expansions. It felt great to help. But Destiny 2 is nice as far as the beautiful worlds go, and how amazing the soundtrack is. But everything else is simply a huge regression from what we had in Year 3. What we had in Year 3 compared to what we currently don't have in Destiny 2, is the reason why so many people played Destiny 1, and are so turned off by the sequel. It's one of the biggest letdowns as far as video game sequels go. And no, you cannot proclaim that "we just have to wait for the DLC" and that "it'll be okay. Just be patient.". It has nothing to do with patience. It has more to do with the fact that Destiny 2 should have been more of a complete game than Destiny 1 ever was within it's 3 year cycle. Now we're easily looking at another disappointing chopped up experience building up into another decently playable game with the requirement of DLC. I can tolerate having to spend money on DLC for the past 3 years, but not any more. I'm at that point and need to seriously stop justifying Bungie's decisions that "everything will get better with DLC". I need to stop that, and so do you. I don't expect Destiny 2 to have the same amount of content at launch that Destiny 1 had in Year 3. But at least go to great measures to ensure that everything of which made Destiny 1 replayable, is in Destiny 2, plus more. Destiny 2's population is dropping as Destiny 1's is rising and yet, the mass majority of whom have gone back, have already done everything in Destiny 1, and surprisingly still prefer it to Diet Destiny. That should tell Bungie exactly what they did wrong. If you enjoy the game, great. Play to your heart's content, but always remember how much better Destiny 2 could have been. Edit: Actually, I take that back about it being a sequel to Y1 of D1. How dare I defile such a great year... My apologies. D2 is a prequel of Y1 in D1, but with larger worlds. But larger worlds doesn't always mean more content. :P

I wanna say I was disappointed. But I've been telling all of the dirty Desticles that this is exactly how the game was going to turn out for years. Did you enjoy your naps kiddos? It's about time you joined the waking world.

32 year old man here. House. Wife. Son and 2 cats. And never had an hobby like Destiny. I made friends for life in D1, founded an inseparetable clan with thousands of raids, hundreads of flawless , but mostly, fun while slaying alien god and reaching for the stars. We had so many expectations... All of our Vets are so bored. Game is empty. Vague. No mystic whatsoever. Everystep up made in D1...vanished. Every improvement to the fun and engaging activities...gone. Visually stunning. But empty. Seems like its a vague connection to D1, continuity was severely damaged. Lore is dispersed and rushed to fill some curiosity here and there. Endgame doesn't exist. No replayability whatsoever. The density. The D1 multilayered lore that made us dream of a bigger, better and even harder sequel is gone. You simply cannot hang to the argument that DLCs are coming or D1 Vanilla was worse. Thats the point: mistakes were made. Lessons should be learned, but same mistakes were made. They erased all the framework improvements of D1 and made a totally casual game that is far from the D1 all fans knew. D2, is for me, and for any reasonable true fan that got engaged in the real challenges of D1, a huge let down.

Kinda sucks when I’m trying to complete my basic call to arms weekly milestone and I’m always playing against sweaty clans
-
Guys instead of just ripping the game think of ways to improve it. Plus if you see summaries of the seasons stream you'd see that they're bringing big changes soon
-
Don't worry they're slowly feeding us back the features we enjoyed from D1 like purchasing IB armour and Ornaments
-
After hearing about how they are going to recycle guns 4 times a year and we don't even have enough vault space to collect all this stuff, so we are back to pick and choosing what to delete? I dont mind the concept itself, but give me room to store all these weapons. I don't understand how we still have a vault space problem.

I understand change , really I do.To change as much as they did really was a bad idea. I understand making the game to appeal to more folks, that's a great plan. They changed to much when all they had to do was adjust a few things , lord salad must of had a stroke 'cause he doesn't remember me "a young iron lord" at all. Now to the big white ball in the sky. In d1 it did nothing, but float in the sky. In d2 at the end of the story it does....nothing , wait i'm wrong it turned on the light bulb that's it not much of a story. In d1 our hunters, warlocks and titans had so much power, demi-god like that was fun. Now we are so weak, its just sad. But , hey , its just a game , right? The guns, armor , with no rolls, really boring only one way to build it that = no fun. Their is more, but I don't have time to explain why...... you know what I mean.Just try to have fun folks even though that could be the real challenge , folks.

Did you put this trollbait under a box with a stick holding it up Elmer Fudd style?

Edited by crazeeavery: 10/22/2017 4:35:00 AMSame. It was fun at the start but then once you get to the end game there's nothing to do, unless you're really into cosmetic upgrades. I've deleted the game at this point to make room for Warframe, no regrets. I'm having alot more fun in a free to play game lmao.

Did anyone actually play Destiny 1? How can anyone be dispointed ? D2 follows exactly how D1 went. It is fun until you get to a certain point, then it is a chore until the next expansion or major update. As far as the complaints, most were already talked about by the devs before the release.
-
D2 is more of a letdown than star wars episode 7.
-
They removed any depth to the game, it’s basically destiny of duty and I think that’s an insult to COD.
