I had fun at the beginning of the journey. Then I don't know what happened. The final nail in the coffin for me was the absence of prestige raid rewards.
This time around I had the belief that D2 would pick up where year 3 left off. Not a few steps behind vanilla. I am Jack's broken dream.
How are you guys finding the game at this point? How are you spending your time when online? Or are you taking a break till the expansion?
Edit: Trending. I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It isn't satisfying for me that this post has so many people in agreement. I respect that the developers put in long hours and massive amounts of energy to craft Destiny 2. I understand that the product at launch is a foundation that will be built on in time. However, when you review the constructive feedback and the similar ideas from a variety of Guardians. It is genuinely surprising that Bungie didn't anticipate these issues would eventuate. Sadly this culminates in a validation of the title. At this point in time "D2 is Disappointing".

Destiny has no competition

Have to say. I'm enjoying No Man's Sky more than destiny. Played for 8 hrs yesterday. And 5 today. Cheers

“Yea this game sucks” #FreeDabest

Agreed I one step forward one giant leap backward.

I feel people forgot how D1 was a huge disappointment too. No story, crucible meta which made weapons, perks and gear to either be changed or nerfed, having to re-level and get exotics back, Crota dlc did a little bit right but it was a disappointment too (let’s not forget necrocasm being trash), Then there’s HoW PoE (I’m pretty sure we all thought it was a horde mode) was a disappointment, removal of exotics. Now I do agree with raid weapons and armor not offering anything (perk wise) to the raid, but its only been a month. Let’s just see if things get better come the 1st dlc. I feel about the game as I did in vanilla D1, this is just the beginning.
-
I can't say disappointing since I didn't have high expectations Plus I treated it like a reboot so I wasn't really upset by anything; yeah they can fix some things most definitely but I'm not going to stamp my feet and scream about it ya know?
-
Let down and disappointed. D1 HAD issues too but I have no drive to play this game like I did d1. All weapons have same rolls, nightfall timer isn't received well I'd rather go back to wiping and starting over. Raid is awful. Pvp without any choice of game mode on top of already bad pvp teamshoot gameplay. They took steps back in many ways. It's a good game but it's lost the magic. Also bungo doesn't care if you like it or not. I've already moved on

Up voted for them to listen to us. I'm loving pvp but the shallowness of everything else in this game is terrible. They left so much of what made destiny great behind. Give us grind.

I’m gutted, I sank nearly 3000 hours into D1 and played most days even during the content drought and sadly even those days for me were better than anything D2 has had to offer so far, no incentive to do anything, light/power doesn’t matter, weapons are all very ‘meh’, I’ve paid for the DLC with the preorder but think I may not bother, so gutted with how my favourite game is now a poor shadow of its former self
-
Would like to select my damn subclass tree poor way to have trade offs with subclasses and machine guns also weirdly handled by removing them... kinda expect a team of ppl who’s job it is to make a game to come up with inventive ideas for the balance of machine guns
-
To be honest, I expected it to be bad. I'm not disappointed, except that I hoped it would exceed my extremely low expectations. As soon as I heard Luke Smith was going to direct it, I knew it would be awful. It was a whole lot worse than I expected, but I wouldn't describe my feelings toward a game I know would be bad as disappointment.
-
I feel bad for the "It's just a beta", "It's only been out for a month", "Wait for the DLC" people. They'll feel the same disappointment as us soon.
-
I main a titan and don’t have fun with the hunter sub but GD they feel so weak compared to my titan also arcstrider is so bad is laughable
-
I feel like they combined most of the stuff that worked from D1 and tweaked PVP a bit. Then just stopped. What we have now should have been the foundation they built on and released a lot more content than they did.

More attention seeking hipster "d2 blows" posts. Nothing to see here, move along

I wouldn't call it disappointing. I did NOT have the belief that D2 would pick up where D1 left off though. I've had a load of fun on my main account and finally decided to fire up this account 2 days ago. I had planned on taking more time with building this one up (relative to my main account, still taking time ;) ). Last night I opened up Nessus in the campaign, but I had primarily been running Lost Sectors and PE's. Not concentrating so much on the Campaign side of it. Still haven't gotten to IO and already sitting at 20 and 205 on the first character. I do look at games a bit differently than a good amount of the active posters here though. If I run out of fun things, I create challenges for myself. It keeps me entertained. That's what video games are for, no?

Year 1 has its problems but nothing compared to what they did with the crap. At least in d1 year one we had weapons and gear to chase after we finished the pve stuff. We literally handed everything so easily now, and I understand why they did it this way but that doesn’t make the game good. There’s not one gun in the game that would give you the same feeling as when ghorn first dropped for you. And I know it’s a bit foolish to think we’d get that in the second game but I was hoping. And not to mention You don’t even need to do the raid because you can get to 305 with out the raid. Smfh bungie

Edited by NotABot: 10/22/2017 3:02:10 PMFrom what I've seen, the game likes nice, We'll see how it plays tomorrow

To be honest I think i've had my moneys worth. Expecting a game to have unlimited gameplay for a one off payment is a typical millenial attitude. Destiny 1 was at this exact stage of its life when people were complaining about content. And we hadnt had any Faction events, Iron Banner, Trials, or clan based activities. Ive enjoyed it. But ive faced the truth and moved onto another game, and ill be back for the DLC, just like many Guardians posting complaints in this forun.

Edited by ImBatMan: 10/22/2017 9:40:38 PMD2 will get better. The game hasn’t fully released yet until it’s out on all systems. After it comes on pc they will have all the data they need to make changes and fixes. You can’t compare base D2 to D1 as a whole. If you compare both games to when they first came out, d1 was worse. A lot of people may not remember d1 at launch but there were a lot of problems. I am not defending Bungie. They did screw up. My personal opinion is that we are all jumping the gun and D2 will improve. The amount of content d1 had at its peek took 5 years. D2 has only had 2. Bungie obviously likes dlcs so the fact we all expected a game to release being 100% full when we already knew of 2 dlcs is ridiculous.

There are many contents coming to Destiny 2. Relax, play some crucible, enjoy IO, explore edz. Loot the systems, sectors public events. I think the Dawning is coming next week. Don’t say you’re disappointed because you didn’t get Prestige rewards when Bungie states there weren’t going to be any, just change the mechanics and challenge us. I’m looking forward to play Destiny 2 for a while. My clan is looking for more active players, add me on PSN: Martinez_Billy. I raid every weekend and currently looking for a team to run prestige. Enjoy the game it’s been less than 2 months.
