I had fun at the beginning of the journey. Then I don't know what happened. The final nail in the coffin for me was the absence of prestige raid rewards.
This time around I had the belief that D2 would pick up where year 3 left off. Not a few steps behind vanilla. I am Jack's broken dream.
How are you guys finding the game at this point? How are you spending your time when online? Or are you taking a break till the expansion?
Edit: Trending. I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It isn't satisfying for me that this post has so many people in agreement. I respect that the developers put in long hours and massive amounts of energy to craft Destiny 2. I understand that the product at launch is a foundation that will be built on in time. However, when you review the constructive feedback and the similar ideas from a variety of Guardians. It is genuinely surprising that Bungie didn't anticipate these issues would eventuate. Sadly this culminates in a validation of the title. At this point in time "D2 is Disappointing".

They removed any depth to the game, it’s basically destiny of duty and I think that’s an insult to COD.
-
Just had to add some levity here. The best part for quite a few people in D2 is the mute button. If someone posts with valid content concerning the farse D2 is, the whiners for D2 more times than not throw some colorful language at the OP then mute them.
-
See that place over there. You can go there (maybe)but why bother there’s nothing over there to do!
-
Problem is. Those of us not playing dont come here enough to like posts like this. If ps4 and xbox had sellable digital purchases. The net would be flooded with d2 codes for sale.

Does anyone know what game the community focus team were talking about playing this week, I can’t seem to find it anywhere

Edited by MUNN5TER: 10/22/2017 9:04:38 AMLogged 3000+ hours on d1 year 1 was the most amazing game I've ever played in my whole lifetime. Since then bungie keep tinkering and trying to balance the game. Look bungie please listen here's what you do to fix this for your fans:- 1,reward all End game players (loot on prestige etc) 2,we like unbalanced weapons!!! Hunting for gjallarhorn was annoyingly good(and fate bringer, thorn, icebreaker etc). 3,new raid every 3 months 4,when you release a new game I.e. Destiny 2 , do not I repeat Do NOT make people start fresh when you just re-used old exotics!!!! Lazy lazy lazy people. New games done this way should be all old exotics or none at all!!! 5, glitches yes we would all love not to have them but, game breaking issues are rife in the leviathan game especially end fight we have lost countless hours because of this. Bring the madness back guys loads more exotics unbalance the s**t out of them make a few well over powered and make people hunt them weapons down! Thrust me people might moan a little (ohh I never get gjallahorn! Lol) But people will stay and hunt give me a reason to do this grind ! Please listen to the community we just want the game the way it was originally intended. Please make the game great again that's what we all want We believe in you bungie bring the good times back

the number of these pointless posts are disappointing

Edited by AdligerAdler: 10/22/2017 11:28:27 AMWas bored after only 3 weeks and haven't played since. Destiny 1 DLCs kept me entertained for almost 2 months! I'm disappointed. Probably not gonna buy the DLC. Maybe I quit the Destiny franchise after almost 3 years. Not sure if this is still a game where I want to spend 30-40 bucks on a DLC and can say it's worth the money.

Trying to please casual players ( even tho it was easy before). Trying to please pve only players, trying to please crucible players, trying to please everyone.... Destiny 1 was an standalone morpg. They should have stuck with the standalone. Destiny2 is trying to be a tactical shooter..why??? Why they tried to fit into brackets of other games. Cod, battlefield, overwatch and every clone like them, are just shooters. Nothing more! Destiny was da bomb because it added more to the genre then just "kill each other". Content is what it made the game, the glory of loot and killing players/bosses with epic loot.
-
Eh at this point it is just like any other game. Play through the content then do end game each week then move on to whatever slse you have to do in the week(school, work, family, etc...)
-
You people miss your grind and addiction.

Sounds like a whole lotta bitching to me

Edited by YourMother1972: 10/22/2017 9:58:33 AMI played Destiny 1 almost from the start and used three characters to play as much as i could being a father, husband and employee. Over 2000 hours was spent on raids, nightfalls and mainly the Crucibles. The beta of Destiny 2 was a warning already, but once the game entered my PS4 i was impressed by the Red War campaign. Great missions, amazing cutscenes and finally a nice story to be told. Once that was finished the public events, the heroic versions of those public events and exotic quests kept me busy for another week as i was levelling up. I really had high hopes for the guided games since i don't have friends that play Destiny 2 on the same system at the same times but that was a huge disapointment. I had no need to stare at my screen for half an hour so i just skipped them and the raid along after many negative comments about the loot. Now i am at a point that i have three characters being bored as hell cause there is nothing to play for. Without matchmaking or a proper guided system i will not play Nightfalls and Raids and the other weekly challenges take an hour per characters and that is where Destiny 2 is at. After watching yesterday's video i don't have much hope for the next DLC or season as they call it. Much cosmetics again, much Everest buying and a loot system that is not changing as it seems. I do have some sparks of hope as they stated they would look at lone wolves playing in the Crucibles and some sort of change for perks (although they would remain fixed) so i will give them the benefit of a serious doubt but if that season shows they don't want to adapt the game more in favor of die-hard players then there is not much hope of a good sequel to Destiny 1 i guess. Meanwhile Titanfall 2 is downloaded and Battlefront 2 is ordered so let's see who wins my favor in 2018.

Bump. I tried to convince some of my friends to do the Prestige Raid with me out of sheer boredom last night. It came down to the changes in the mechanics versus the rewards. We ended up playing Siege and Fortnite instead. Even when some of us want to spend time in Destiny’s world there is no motivation to do so. The Destiny fashion show is not a compelling reason to play Destiny for the majority of my friends list. Give us back our OP weapons and powers in PVE. We want diversity in our character builds not dumbing the game down so you can make the most money off the lowest common denominators.

D2 shoulda been an expansion of everything D1 already had. Unfortunately, consoles held this game back with all their limitations.
-
They have about until the start of next year to even save this game, to me i think it is absolutly stupid to do the same as destiny 1, where they like kept feeding us the story seperatley in future DLCs. they could have easily just made a few more missions to be played weekly or even monthly to introduce to us the next expansions that would give us something to do while waiting. But seriously i am disappointed destiny 2 is bad because it literally like a beta version of destiny 1 i mean common better graphics and cooler looking landscapes, most of the best game had the worst graphic but they are the best. you can have 4v4 PvP as the main theme but common where is doubles where is mayhem clash they were there once a week and it was the best week people going crazy with their supers. why not add a third category that says ohh "CHOOSE YOUR GAME MODE" why are the enemies always the same level as me ? well thats stupid i guess ill never have that feeling like in destiny 1 when i went on the nightfall for the first time i couldnt even peak cuz i was so weak but came back stronger and just flew over them with what ever burn modifier was active. and can i just say this, id literally trade the dawnblade for the sunsinger any day, i miss how warelocks saved the day by self reviving. if you wanted to add new sub classes ? add a completely different sub class not keep 2 with stupid adjusments and only change one. i hope the expansion can some what save the game because destiny 2 now is on the verge of suicide really.

Fixed static boring watered down loot, with mediocre perks. The fact is, all the mediocre crap is duplicates too! That just ends up getting deleted..... No point playing. Had more fun playing rift in D1 this week..... I finished D2 in just over a month, whereas I never "finished" D1 in nearly three years.....
-
playing d1 mayhem. d2 crucible is retarded
-
Even butthurt ran away with Eris. They’re nowhere to be seen in Destiny 2.

The initial game experience was very good for me -- I found the Destiny 2 campaign much more immersive than Destiny 1's -- public events, lost sectors, exploration, there was so much to do. After a month, I've noticed that after I complete the milestones on all 6 of my characters (I play on XBone and Playstation), there's not much to do. In Destiny 1, I could suffer through some Crucible because even though they use the same matchmaking logic, at least in D1, one could go ham and have some success ... that's not really possible in D2. Routinely, my teammates are useless, they have no idea what's going on, don't care, don't try. Routinely I face a full team of year 3 gamertags and my potatoes have no chance. I'm not saying I'm a god, I'm not saying I good but I'm routinely, monumentally more competent than my teammates. I still get blown out in about 70-80% of my games -- granted I play solo -- however this should not be a regular thing for solo players. In conclusion, from Tuesday to Wednesday or Thursday, I have fun (as long as I don't play Crucible), the rest of the time I play other games.

Edited by COMBATICUS: 10/22/2017 7:30:55 AMI think we need to stop with these posts already and start posting what the issues are and how they can fix it. There's enough threads out there, I'm sure they get it, I'm reading it everywhere, on Yahoo fronts page, my androids news when I open the browser, etc. So that part is covered. Let's be a little constructive now. Because all I see now is ppl just wantin to have a bunch of likes on their thread. Kinda getting as stale as D2 .
-
If they would fix crucible, I don't know how-im not a game designer, a large portion of complaints would disappear.

Edited by SwankyButters: 10/22/2017 7:36:49 AMDisappointing yes but not for prestige raid rewards. I hear the raid was terrible before the prestige and that's the real problem. Not just the raid, I don't raid because I don't care and I don't have the time but it's the same problem with everything in this game... There is no cool stuff to discover or if it's there, it WAY to hard to find. I'm telling you, I look in all the oddest places hoping to find a mystery, a totally odd pick up, a funky weird clue to a bigger mystery and never find..............anything. After you do things a few times, it's like... what's the point? You have your little list on the left of stuff to do if you want loot and ................. aah ................. humm ...............and that's it. Something as dumb as my speeder just exploding or bucking me off it, out of nowhere, would be more interesting than the stuff there is to do. Destiny 2 is similar to Destiny 1 that way, only kind of worse. There are ZERO surprises.
-
It had a super great story mode... that you can play through fully one time per character. It has a pretty cool raid.... that uses the dumbest key system ever thought of, and lacks a reason to do the hard mode. Crucible is more balanced primarily... but is boring and lacks the amount of ammo it needs to support power weapons and abilities need to charge about twice as fast. Public events were cool for about the first 50 times each. Everything good about this game either goes away very fast or has at least one to two things very wrong with it
-
How is it disappointing? You don’t have to spend your life on this game to keep up now. It’s great. 2-3 days max, then go on with your life. Find something to do other than man the sticks all damn day and you’ll appreciate things more. Good God, man... Or do you like grinding the same strike over and over and over for a month to get 1 legendary?

This video is vary insightful and summarized 90% of D2s problems https://youtu.be/STB_lu-GpsM
