so fixed rolls, tokens, lack of drops, etc..that is destiny 2. This does sadden me, Because while i appreciated tokens in the forms of supplemental system to gear drops, While i understand the balance perspective of fixed rolls vs random. There is no more excitement. you get a better devils...your excited, its a good handcannon, you use it. But at no point do you look at it and go "is this a god roll?" This is what made the 10th "better devils" exciting, that element of unkown, that potential for something great. You see the weapn drop and you go...holy shit yes! please have X perk. The elation i had when i got a god roll clever dragon, the elation i felt when i got that strike specific loot that looks so good, that feeling of elation. That is what is missing. The second better devil's falls...meh..i guess i get some materials.. The third... the fourth... you just stop caring, you no longer get that little moment of elation to carry you from one thing to the next, that bright little punctuation of excitement and mystery and potential...that elation. The real issue as well..is even if you toned down the duplicates, getting a new weapon isnt as exciting either, because you know what it has, there is not a known factor, not a hidden gem, not a delightful surprise. Now, I'm not saying you have to bring random perks back, id love it but thats not really the point. The point is what d2 has lost is that elation and potential for getting something great for your time invested. Doing hard mode raids for limited use shaders and armor re-skins with zero benefits to said raiding content is not fun. Getting reskinned weapons for IB that have poor perk layouts for pvp is not fun. getting your 10th better devils is not fun. Bring the elation back Bungie, please.
