Okay, okay, hear me out.
What if... the Farm was still useful?
After the campaign, all of the useful vendors go back to the tower and we players have zero initiative to ever go back to the Farm.. no useful vendors, and out of the way since you have to fly there with your ship.
In D1, the Reef and the Iron Temple were still useful because they had their own representatives for things as well as unique vendors in each location.
In D2 the Farm is.. obsolete.
Here is my proposal:
Add unique vendors and vendor reps to the Farm to make it somewhat viable again (what happened to booties? Could have a booth tracker for earth, maybe “Complete this adventure” or “find x item”)
Also, don’t make the Farm unable to get out of. Make it a town that you can visit while on patrol, even make a fast travel option on it, so Guardians can quickly visit and turn in quests/ get rewards and continue on their mission.
I understand that you had to “fly” to the Reef because it’s literally in SPACE, the Tower because it’s so high up, and the Iron Temple because you were on a MOUNTAIN, but the Farm? It’s on the ground. Let us travel there without having to fly. Really adds to the “open-world” experience.
TL;DR make the Farm accessible on foot and give it unique vendors/a purpose.
Edit: Great ideas

Left 4 Brad:
a weapon range to test new weapons... It only makes sense to do stuff like that there IMO. Sparrow garages, whatever. Throw in some random voice line about how all the sounds of gunfire are keeping the Fallen away, just little touches would go a long way.
Put a firing range out back of the barn to test new weapons.
