Just a disclaimer, it's late and I'm expecting a lot of hate but I just need to get this off my chest. I was a huge fan of Destiny 1. I have over 1300 hours in it and I had lots of fun even in the dark days of vanilla. It's not the same way in D2. All the weapons just feel the same and the removal of special weapons just makes gunplay seem so boring in PvE and PvP. Exotics are insanely easy to get. The game is still new but I have every exotic weapon but the Hard Light and honestly I don't have any drive to get it. The grind in D1 made it fun to replay strikes again. I remember finally getting the Ghorn in D1 from Atheon and freaking out. Every exotic now just seems boring and neutered. The raid isn't any fun. It's mechanical hell. I liked raids that had a good balance between mechanics and just shooting the boss. There is only one real encounter where to beat it you have to shoot the boss and that's at the end. (I don't count dogs as they're mini bosses) Crucible is just teamshotting. The weapons have such a high TTK that if you aren't in a coordinated fireteam, the other team will win 9/10 times. I missed when I could still have a good time in solo queue. I was never the best in D1 but it was fun because it had was based more around individual gun skill. As cancerous as they were in D1 crucible, specials were so much fun! I loved having fusion vs shotgun duels with other players. And I miss private matches. I have hours of recordings from it that I still watch. People say that just because it's D2 vanilla it has an excuse to be broken. It shouldn't be. It should be better than what D1 started as. I can't even enjoy this game with my friends anymore. I only play about 2 hours a week now just to get 1 or 2 luminous engrams. I wanted to like this game so badly but I just can't. It just turned stale so fast after launch. I've even been going back to D1 occasionally just to run some old raids. I hope this game gets better but in its current state I just can't play it anymore. It's late and looking back this post is a mess. If you actually read the whole thing I thank you for your time. I just wanted to vent my frustrations. This isn't meant to be a post about how I believe PvP or PvE should be so please don't take it that way. Again I'm sorry for the ranting and I don't expect this to be a very popular post.
