As a guy who was a hunter main in D1 there's a lot more negatives to being a hunter in D2 as opposed to D1 due to the gear. I know some of you will disagree but hear me out.
One the main things I have a problem when it comes to hunters is their gear. While I think the gear looks pretty damn good the stats make me want to cry. Every single piece I've come across has mobility on it. As we all should know by now mobility does NOT affect your sprint speed, or dodging ability. It only affects your walk speed and jump height. While this is pretty good for PvP when strafing since you actually move faster that's about the only use you'll ever need it for. In PvE it is completely useless and as far as PvP goes you really only need maybe 2 or 3 mobility tops after that it's a waste of room for other important stats.
Now I know many will say "Just put mods on it" that's the thing, I am aware hunters are supposed to be agile but what good is a mobility stat if it won't affect our sprint speed or dodge ability. At that point we are being forced to get 3 shot by hand cannons in PvP if they happen to land those 3 shots because our gear forcibly has the mobility stat tied to it. We are also being forced to hide behind cover after a firefight for like 5 seconds because our recovery is horrible. I don't know about you all but I HATE having to choose between two useful stats because I'm being forced to have a useless one. I would like to be able to put ordnance or melee mods into my gear without fear of risking armor and recovery.
I would like to see more armors in the future that do away with being tied to the mobility stat or the mobility stat reworked to be useful both in PvP and PvE. Because as of right now it is the only reason I avoid playing my hunter like the plague almost to the point where he's so weak I want to delete him. But I don't, because hunter has a special place in my heart since it was my first class. I just hate to see them in this state. I am aware they were weak in D1 but dammit at least I could choose how much armor and recovery they had to a certain extent. Not in D2 though. Bungie if you read this by some miracle, give us some hope for the mobility stat and hunter armor stats. Because as of right now I can confidently say after all the YouTube videos and YouTube comments I've read a lot of people think this stat sucks.
If anyone has a different opinion I'd like to see why as I am open to discussion. Anything to make it seem like my hunter is worth playing over my titan or warlock.
PS: I miss grinding for gear trying to achieve a T12 armor build on a certain piece I liked, like I did in D1 or a god roll weapon. I am aware that if all the weapons and armors are the same everyone will have an equal quality of gameplay but at the same time that makes this game boring. Duplicate weapons and armors just become shards and I have no real reason to play past doing my weekly powerful gear engrams. I forced myself not to grind after I found out all weapons and armors are locked stats and are the same because, I knew once I reach max light level there's no reason to play to anymore. I find myself sitting in orbit a lot of the time trying to figure out way to keep myself in the game. But there's just no motivation like there was in D1. I want to love this game for all the new great things but I feel as if we got more things taken away rather than added. I wanted this game to be the Destiny I knew and loved but with extra stuff not removed and forced gameplay styles.

Honestly, the fix would be to put all 3 options on every piece and let the player choose. That way they can have the look they want and the stats they want. I'd also like them to add a skin slot so I can wear a full set instead of having the exotic look out of place.
