The High Caliber Rounds perk is very strong in Crucible, as evidenced by the overwhelming use of MIDA Multi-Tools and Uriel's Gifts. The advantage they offer is so strong that it should come with a trade-off in the form of a range penalty (or other penalty the balance team deems appropriate). It should not give added range as it currently does.

The real issue with mida is 90 aim assist. Obvisuly that compared with its given set of perks make it the handicap choice for players. Since d1 -
Remember these are the types of players that think they know balance. http://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/psn/Kagehoshi The ones that are dead for most of the match for lack of thumbs.
Just cause you can’t fight against high cal doesn’t mean the people that aren’t trash can’t...
If i get killed in the field by a mida, I counter with my vigilance wing, works all the time

https://youtu.be/YMLC6rX4Gts It’s not the guns it’s the matchmaking
-
Aim lower, high calibers are extremely easy to counter. You have summoned me.

A higher caliber round has more mass meaning it has enough kinetic energy to be lethal at a further range. Provided the ballistic coefficient remains the same, which mostly goes up with caliber.

ANYONE that complains about weapons being OP needs to stop and reevaluate themselves. I was in the Crucible last night as a lvl 2 Titan rocking the first Auto Rifle they give you ... SLAYING... holding my own against Uriels Gift and Origin Story and MIDA and various guns. You win some and lose some just play better. Some guns feel like they are missing something, others don't feel exotic at all, and yes some in general are just bad all the way around. No I'm not ok with the copy and paste reskins of some weapons and how bland others are. But maybe you're only getting killed by this gun because everyone is using it or your Favorite YouTuber said this gun was good so everyone is keeping it instead of dismantling it like they did in times past. Again I say the Guns are Balanced.

At this point all I hear is crying. If you can't handle this PvP then I don't know what else to tell you. Seriously this is the most watered down version of Destiny you can get.

Edited by zNapSack: 10/14/2017 1:45:47 AMFor gameplay purposes I see your point. And that's a trade-off they could certainly consider. Being a larger caliber round the bullet (the actual projectile) being larger has more mass (there's more of it) an thus the force with which it strikes the target is greater. In the game the result of which is manifested as flinch. Note: The following is not game related and is intended for informational purposes only. In reality, a larger caliber bullet (the actual projectile) often has more range than a smaller caliber bullet. This is due to the fact they are not as affected by wind and gravity for example since they're heavier (less affected by wind) and the cartridge as a whole is more powerful, thus the bullet has a greater velocity which exposes it to both wind and gravity for a shorter period of time, thus both have less time in which to act upon it.

Say no to nerfs!
-
You casuals are still complaining about high cal??? Have you ever tried getting good and seeing if that might help???
-
-
I kinda want it removed entirely...
-
Get rid of high caliber rounds. Don't nerf anything don't buff anything. Remove HCR from the game and you will see more people using more of the 100+ weapons we have at our disposal. Some of the weapons we have are super fun and challenging to pull off without giving a crutch to anyone with Uriel's/ Mida . I agree that "getting gud" is not the answer only because HCR is a crutch. I choose to not play with crutches like Mida and Uriel's because I can see that when I use them it's clear I have an unfair advantage. This is not fun because I like a challenge and I don't have one unless I'm going against another Mida/ Uriel's user.

This issue is dead you PvP try hates have already ruined the game....what else do you want? You want balance go play something else....destiny will never be balanced so Let It go
-
or can just gitgud and L2P. if they're so over powered why not just use them? Or you have, and still cant kill people using the same weapons? ^Skill I think u just need to GITGUD
-
There is a stability tradeoff.
-
The difference in flinch is actually minimal in pvp.

Edited by Jologz808: 10/13/2017 10:29:12 AMDon't know if they could remove it but they removed the shotgun shot package perk in D1. Now shot package was a crazy perk compared to HCR Lol

Any thoughts on this subject?

So, a heavier bullet shouldn't travel as far as a lighter one you say? Stop talking sense, Bungle pyhsics make their own rules!
