As you all know, Iron Banner is on going and right now many Guardians in teams of four are camping all together with their friendly MIDA in the Crucible in order to obtain Tokens. Iron Banner Tokens. The thing couldn't be more serious then that.
Anyway, when we, Young Wolves, approch to Lord Saladin, he doesn't recognise us. For him it seems that we are normal Guardians that he has never seen before. How? Why? Why Lord Saladin doesn't recognise us, as the Young Wolf that helped him during the SIVA Crisis? How is possible he forgot the new Generation of Iron Lords?
Well, probably this is just a mistake from BUNGIE. I suppose that counting all that money could be, you know, tiring. Or maybe... maybe... there could be an explanation. Be careful: I could be totally wrong, this is just an opinion and a theory.
When we arrive to the Farm for the first time and we speak with Tyra Karn, she doesn't recognise us too. She says that since she lost her connection with the Traveler, with the Light, her memory is... confused. It looks like that losing the Light brought a sort of trauma.
Now, what if Lord Saladin suffered the same thing? When he lost his Light, probably he forgot about us for the same kind of trauma. Now, you could say: but why only them suffered such a thing? Well, my theory is that probably this happened because they are very old, they are probably among the oldest characters of the game... they are old in both ways, like Guardians and also for the age. Lord Saladin and Tyra looks pretty old. Maybe this, somehow, influenced this thing.
Of course, this is just a theory and probably it's just pure speculation. Let me know what you think about.

Simple, he’s a replicant.
-
The development for d2 started after the tk, and was mostly done by the end of rise of iron, so the creators now have to add that content in without putting of dlc releases Blame Activision for rushing bungie
-
Wrong. He has demetia. He keeps calling warlocks and titans "hunters" and my hunter got a "Such insight! Ikora would be proud!"
-
Lord Saladin and Tyra looks pretty old.
So you talking about temporary dementia? Could be possible. Mabye he's just friendly and don't want to prefer some guuardians... I can remember that at the first time I approached him he said something different like I read in the text on the right side...
-
Ochams razor dude, it's just laziness on Bungies part.
-
They seem to want to forget about Destiny 1, wouldn't surprise me if the Traveler vanishes in Destiny 3 because they don't know what it is lol

Edited by C1B3D: 10/13/2017 10:44:06 PMBungie transformed Iron Banner in Crucible, with just own npc and tokens. Crucible never really had a story, and it seems like after Rise of Iron, they just done with all the Iron Lords and Iron Banner story for now, maybe in Destiny 3. Iron Banner is not even around the most powerful guardians anymore(power level deactivated). Iron Banner weapons and armor have no story. There is no point to create theories for something that just not have any story, because this content was not build around story. It was in Destiny 1 where people created a story from empty space, and now they start here. Its Bungies job, when they not care, than they just not care at all.

The reason he can't remember you is because him and Lord Shaxx are coked up. They are supposed to be training us not making us fight each other. Wait till the Vanguard finds out about this s*-+.
-
Bungie just simply forgot. They likely added all the veteran dialogue before adding saladin dialogue.
-
Edited by Sky: 10/13/2017 10:46:02 PMIts an interesting theory.. The iron lords were the first guardians after all.. So they are very very old, older then the vanguards. So perhaps that is possible.. I personally think its bungie who has amnesia seeing as they cant even recall what the house banner of judgement looks like.

No i think we think we are moving forward in time but we are actualy traveling backwards through a vex time loop or a vex mind simulation
-
After he went to voice some more reaper lines he forgot about us
-
He was struck by lightning, his body and mind overtaken. Lord Saladin is just a puppet, he is now Raiden from Mortal Combat. Cant you hear it in his voice?
-
The real reason is that he is jelly that you were able to get the light back first and he only got his light because you stopped the big bad guy.
-
Because he's old and probably suffering from dementia
-
Like the rest of D2s story call it a confused mess. They want to do this thing but then they have to do that thing first instead or something. Same thing here, everyone is the chosen one character, but not everyone has played all content the games have offered. Which the chosen one character in destiny has done. So they try to account for it, but then narrative integrity goes out the window. Especially when they try to do something about that and then don't keep it going. I know they wanted a clean slate as to not make new players feel like they missed out, but they did lol. It should have just been portrayed as a character that did those things in the last game. Who cares if others missed out. It wouldn't matter so much if the games weren't scheduled for death through always online garbage. I'm ranting so I am going stop here.

IT DOESNT MATTER. I SWEAR IF YOU PUT THIS MUCH THOUGHT AND ENERGY INTO ANYTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE YOU WILL GO FAR BUT THIS IS DOING NOTHING FOR YOU OR US LOL BUNGIE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT
-
Theory is incorrect. During the exodus down strike, Cayde mentions that Saladin still talks about you. He remembers. Bungie just didn't include it.
-
Is that why he thinks we are all Hunters? Maybe he forgot to two other classes exist.

Hey what's xur selling

You KNOW he's been hitting that bong hard, right?

Occams razor is fully applicable here

Where is the 'kick the bucket' option in life?

Here is the real reason why, from Luke Smith himself.
Personally, I think of Destiny 1 as sort of an issue zero in a comic book series. It’s about introducing the universe and some characters in it and some statements, but I think we want to—and a bunch of those statements were questions. I don’t know that we’ll answer all of those statements from the first game, and aren’t going to attempt to in Destiny 2 either.
That is why Lord Saladin doesn't recognize us.
