I'm ok with it because the Boy Scouts teach traditional values. Would be good for girls to have a national organization that isn't just a big cookie sale business to join

Why don't you state that you're proud a girl has taken the first steps into possibly reforming girl scouts by showing girls are also interested in the outdoors, which then could also expand to boy scouts reforming to include girl scouts related activities instead of favoring separating the genders and having them follow specific gender rolls, we can have children do what they like and want to do, [i]while also[/i] socializing with the opposite gender allowing them to be more confident and understanding of each other when they're older. Which can lead to more emotional intelligence and a decrease in anxiety and depression in teens and young adults. Oh geez, but no, "I want my boy scouts to only be boys and my girl scouts to only be girls, change girl scouts and send that bitch back over!"

7 RepliesI think that this is a terrible idea. This will introduce many more problems for both the BSA and GSA. It will completely alter the point of the Boy Scouts, which is to teach [b]young men[/b] how to be leaders. It's not to teach boys and girls to have a 'yay happy fun time' during meetings. Secondly, camping trips. Sure, camping with the other gender is fine as kids, but once you get into Boy Scouts, you have an entirely different scenario. There will undoubtedly be reports of the r-term (don't know if that's bannable) and kids turning one Eagle-Required Merit badge into another Eagle-Required Merit Badge. [spoiler]someone tell me that they understand that.[/spoiler] Money is an issue too. Camps will have to build more facilities to accommodate the female Scouts. Bathrooms, tents, you name it, it will have to be built. Yes, I understand that the amount of Boy Scouts has fallen in the past few years. My troop had about 110 Scouts a couple years ago, and now we have about 30. We recruited one Scout last year. The solution is not to include more, but to change how Scouts recruit.

3 RepliesAs a Boy Scout, I think that they should simply make Girl Scouts be the same as Boy Scouts. I have no problem with girls in Cub Scouts, but Boy Scouts is for boys.

This wouldn't even be a problem if girl scouts wasn't complete trash. Girl scout pretty much became another feminist organization designed to force liberal views on young girls. They hardly ever do any outdoor stuff. The boy scouts is a far better organization that teaches boys about real values, so it doesn't surprise me that more girls want to join it than girl scouts.
