Been looking over some old posts from reddit it appears destiny 1 at the start had similar issues in fact more. I’m not saying D2 is amazing or perfect but it’s a damn good platform to start a fresh on D1 evolved over time to the game it is now.
The biggest mistake they have made in D2 is not separating the pvp and pve, you can complain there’s not a lot of end game In D2 but as for the pve side there’s loads more patrols are better yes the strikes are kinda pointless but fun (no strike specific loot in D1 at start) nf timer agreed is absolute ass the lack of replaying the missions doesn’t bother me but how many could you play on D1 early days.
Give the game time.
Less salt is needed on here try doing a few constructive criticism posts. Take forza 7 for example the forza community wasn’t happy with the vip rewards (me included) some one made a post they changed the rewards so everyone is happy.
I also think bungie are more focussed on pc release at the minute.

Ya I don’t care about any of that. Just want the game to be fun like D1 was... handling and damage output is the biggest problem for me...

Give the game time? They had three years!
Give the game time? They had three years!
The time was shared between D1 and D2 and does anyone know when the actually started work on D2 I doubt it was in D1’s first year as it was suppose to be a 10 year game

Wooohoooo
-
Then why buy or play the game now? If it's not complete until in 3 years then why are they putting it out now?
-
Idk, ask bungie

that's how mmo's work if they released all the content day 1 you would be having this conversation a month from now. This gives the community something to look forward to.

It‘s not about content. Res the freaking main post. 🙄

Sure, the platform might be good relative to Destiny 1’s. But they had 3 years to figure out how to make a good platform, and failed pretty bad.

None of these problems are as big a deal without static loot. None of the problems in D1 were even close, because no matter WHAT you were doing there was always a CHANCE you might get something cool. Every bad drop sucked, but you could look forward to the next one. Some people don't realize how crucial the random loot rolls are to a loot-based game, whether it's an FPS or ARPG. You take away that one element and things literally fall apart.

Exactly. There was a point in Destiny when all that there was left to do (for us players that were max light and tier 12 stats) was grind for that perfect Imago Loop (or whatever your gun was) roll. Literally spend HOURS grinding for certain rolls I wanted. If that aspect of the game wasn't there in Destiny 1, the game would have dropped off big time. Basically take away 100+ hours of time i spent on the game grinding for old, but still different weapons.

Tbh the static loot is turd why not include something similar to glass needles or just put more gear in. For the record the hunters ib helmet looks amazing 3 packages 5 guns 😡

While I agree with the separation D2 should not be judged on how D1 looked at launch. They had 3 years to learn from D1 and giving them a "pass" so to speak because it is D2 launch should not be considered. In addition to the separation, their testing or QC process has been very poor for awhile now. Sure they made some QoL changes that are nice to have but they totally overlooked or flat out removed some. I consider this something that should have easily been discovered during testing/QC phase. I have a feeling that they will make this better over time but to be honest it should have been more robust at launch. Wait till the PC reviews come in. From what I understand that community is used to paying a lot less $ for much more content. This game currently feels like it should have been just a PvP edition with the way it is designed. This isn't a bad thing, but they even limit the PvP with exclusive 4's only, lack of playlists to include a solo friendly freelance mode, weekly crucible playlist, etc.

If I’m honest I didn’t like D1 at the start got to level 27 just got bored of grinding never did a raid year one as none of my friends played and trying to find a normal patient raid group was impossible so I lost interest. Competed the dlcs etc but never did a raid. All my exotics dropped a rare item 😡it wasn’t till ttk came out I really got in to the game ended up with 70 odd days in the end. I think D2 will get there as well in time! I personally hate the raid ran it once witch my son and his mates the rewards don’t encourage me to do it again. I enjoy the milestones each week and patrolling and I actually like pvp. All I do is pop this in for a few hours then play forza just so I do t get bored

I am with you on the raid. I hate the check point system and the chest key system. I wish that would have been more linear in design. Many problems with both D1 and D2 originates from not being separate environments. At this stage I hope they realize this and work on ways of dividing the two. One of my suggestions is restrict weapons and armor for each environment (have them greyed out). This could open the door to adding a random/custom system for PvE and adding weapon/armor quests for PvP that are static. At least there would be a carrot to chase for each environment.

Edited by Antosino: 10/11/2017 12:02:17 PMAll they have to do is make random perks not function in PVP. Guns come with one static perk and one or two random. Randoms are disabled in competitive PVP. The tech is already there, Ghosts have random skills that only work in PVP or a certain zone. It's a very easy fix.

Hmm never thought of that, that is a hell of an idea! 😀👍
