Pretty much agree with the whole post. I think the biggest thing killing the game is lack of content. The 'end game' activities of trials and the raid are not enough and are pretty inaccessible for casual players due to lofty lfg requirements. Ive put a fair amount of hours into d2 as a d1 vet and have only had 3 attempts at trials and 1 brief attempt at the raid. What must casuals amd brand new players be experiencing? It should not require this much effort just to attempt to play the game. Why isnt matchmaking available for these activities? At least that would give people an extra option. Guided games is a decent idea but clearly nowhere near enough people are willing to guide, they will need to be heavily incentivised to change this. Im sad to say that at this point the only reason that im still playing is that I foolishly purchased future dlc's with the game. Please bungie listen to your customers.
