Shadow of War introduces loot boxes that contain loot which can be acquired from killing average enemies giving you no advantage at all in a SINGLEPLAYER game, but everyone loses their minds.
Battlefront 2 is entirely pay to win which gives those that pay for the loot boxes and extreme advantage against those who don't in a MULTIPLAYER game, and no one bats an eye.
Hmm...

Edited by Doctor Electric: 10/12/2017 7:32:27 PMShadow of War one makes little to no sense to me Battlefront 2, I can see why people would be upset, but it looks like something where you would have to either be really lucky or pay stupid amounts of money to get anything good. But we'll see, I've never minded microtransaction systems before.

Microtransactions don't bother me at all. Battlefield has always been a pay to win (sort of). I mean you could waste money on getting all of the stuff right away BUT I like taking my time and unlocking the gear as I play. I feel that more skill is obtained by using the stuff that isn't as good so you'll be even deadlier when you finally obtain the best stuff.

Actually a ton of people are bitching about the Battlefront 2 one. Which is understandable unlikr the Shadow of war hate. In Shadoe of war you don't have to buy loot boxes. I heard the true ending takes some grinding. If you enjoy the game then i doubt you'd even mind the grind. People say the true ending is locked behind a paywall, when in actuality it's locked behind what the player chooses to do with their time. Personally I'd just play the game for the true ending. Persobally I'd just play the game to get the best stuff then spend money to get the best stuff. But hey, apparently I'm forced to buy loot boxes

Eurgh! "Loot boxes in single player have no affect on anything!" is such a dumb argument!

While I can't speak for SWBF2 due to only having the Beta I can say that so far SoW is awesome they really did expand on everything and the slogan 'nothing will be forgotten' has proved very true. Saved a random Gondolorian sergeant from an Orc and later on when I was about to die the same sergeant came and killed the orc just as it was about to kill me.
-
I bought a loot box in SoW and one of the orcs i got betrayed me and killed me and when i went to get revenge he killed me again. 10/10 loot box

I can put pay to win aside for addicting gameplay. I feel that both have it.
-
I really don't think that the the shadow of war loot boxes are that big a deal aside from the fact that you can only get the legendary orcs from them. Still going to wait on shadow of wars price to drop before I get it. Star Wars battle front is a problem because it does make it pay to win. I also think players are to tanky

Edited by SpongyMallard7: 10/9/2017 7:44:28 PMBattlefront 2, mainly because I'm a SW fanboy and free DLC. Shadow of War I heard will still have paid DLC and finding out that to get the "true" ending either requires a ton of grind or just buy the best loot box to get the best Orcs to see the ending faster really put a bad taste in my mouth.

I would take Battlefront 2 tbh.
