So I preordered a physical copy of Destiny 2 for the Xbox One through Gamestop, which means I put down $5 for the preorder and paid the rest when it was release day. I got my receipt, waited to pick up the game at 10pm and went straight home to download the game (as anyone else who was super excited about this game did).
On the receipt, there's only two codes for the preorder bonus: double XP and the Kill Tracker ghost. I assumed that the code for the Kill Tracker ghost was bundled with Coldheart; apparently I was wrong.
I beat the game, reached level 20, and gained access to the Tower. Based on what I've read online, the Gunsmith is the one to give you Coldheart once you've done all of that, but he hasn't offered me the gun. I checked my Collections tab and I assure you that Coldheart isn't there either. When checking the game in my library, it shows the base-game and the 10mb download for the Kill Tracker Ghost Pack, but nothing mentioning Coldheart.
I did more research and it seems that other people are experiencing this too, but I couldn't find any posts regarding this on Reddit.
I called up the Gamestop I purchased the game from on a Friday and told them my situation. They told me to call back on Monday since they didn't have anymore codes for Coldheart. I actually called back the following Friday and they gave me a new response, "Yeah, there's nothing we can do. The code you received for the Kill Tracker ghost is the same one for Coldheart, so check the Gunsmith at the Tower. If he doesn't have it, you will have to call either Bungie or Activision."
I preordered the game and never received the most important preorder bonus. I will answer any follow-up questions as I'm really confused and upset about not getting what I paid for.
Tl;dr: I preordered Destiny 2 and never received Coldheart; looking for help.

For physical purchases of the game, the code for coldheart should be on a flyer inside the game case, not on your retailer receipt.
