Part 7 of my crossover of Legend Untold with OverLordTitan’s Frontier series
Rasis, the Corrupted Archon, was dead.
A shadow fell over me, and I looked up to see William standing with hand outstretched. I took his hand and let him help me up, then watched as he collected his swords from the corpse. The carnage of battle surrounded us; Fallen bodies, splattered Mind Fluid, scorched earth, and splintered remains of the camp's equipment. William came up next to me, also looking around at the wreckage. He did not speak, just stood there with a worn atmosphere.
"That's over," I said dismissively, finally breaking the silence.
"Yeah," William seemed lost in thought, "We'll need to report to the Vanguard on all this."
"Have fun with that," I replied, making it clear I didn't want to come, "Waste of time when one of us can tell the whole story."
"Okay," William agreed after a moment, "But will you come with me to tell the Warlock we took care of his friend's killers?"
"No," I shook my head, but considered what he said, "You can tell him you had some help though. He deserves to know I was fighting for his friend, too."
"This is farewell then," William concluded.
"Yeah," I held my hand out to him, "Thanks for everything, William."
William took my hand and shook it. "We'll meet again," he told me as if it were certain, "The universe has a way of bringing things back around."
"Back to haunt us maybe," I chuckled, although a part of me wanted to sulk.
"It was a pleasure. Until next time, Orion and Spark," William nodded to both of us as Spark materialized over my shoulder.
I returned the nod, while Spark voiced his farewell. "Nice meeting you, William," he bobbed happily in the air.
"You jerks forgot me," Rush appeared in front of William, shell scrunched in a glare.
"No, we just don't care about you," Spark laughed.
"Play nice, Spark," I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Glad you monkeys are leaving," Rush kidded.
"Wouldn't want to see you again either," Spark countered.
"And I thought nothing could be more annoying than just Spark," I grinned, then waved my hand at the encampment around us, "What are we gonna do about all this?"
"I'll get Ikora to send some Warlocks, and make sure it all gets put to torch when we're done," William answered.
"Good," I nodded, "Spark, get us out of here."
"Later Orion," William took off his helmet and gave me a big smile as my body began fading in transmat, "I'm only a message away."
Maybe I will give him a call later, I thought to myself, He's a good kid.

Very nice crossover! Wish I could have seen Anibus at some point, but this has made me anticipate Anibus 2 even more now. At some point, I have to figure out the multiversal circles all these stories make to see which ones coincide where. Bump!
