I'm genuinely curious.
With D1, the shotgun meta at least allowed me to become a better sniper. The sidearm meta, where sidearms were effectively more powerful than primaries, broke the game. Stickies, melee range... all that. It just became unfun because there was no way to play around it.
My opinion: D2's PvP is far more balanced. Say what you will about the MIDA and auto rifles, if you play around them, then you're fine. But, no one should be off on their own trying to take down an entire team by themselves. It wouldnt work in real life, certainly wouldnt/shouldnt work here.
If I'm personally going to criticize, I'll throw in a suggestion on how to make it better. For instance, Warlocks have rifts, Titans have Walls, Hunters have... nothing. Nada. The dodge? Dodge what? The first barrage of bullets only to die 1 second later?--- Bummin'. I've shot stormcallers near-point-blank with Goldie, only to be electrocuted to death in the next instant. Arcstrider suffers the same way Blades did in D1. Just a glass-class that's easy to destroy.
My question is sincere. To all the people griping, this is how nerfs start. Then, it'll be broken, and you'll complain harder and harsher. So... What exactly does "balanced" mean to you in PvP? As a former game dev, I am honestly curious.

Fun is not having to use a gun for every single instance. Fun is the ability to customize your character to use space magic. But Destiny does not have this. Ill take a harder to balance game thats fun(ie:abilities) over a "balanced game" where everyone just shoots midas around corners.
