I'm reposting this post to this forum b/c my friend told me to post it in the Help forum instead.
When I read the description of the dodge ability on the Hunter, it sounded like it can be activated the same way as Shade Step, but it doesn't seem that way when I tried to use it. It says that you need to double tab B (XB1) or Circle (PS4) to activate the dodge, but yesterday and today when I've been doing that, all my character does is crouch when I double tap the B or Circle Button.
I get the feeling that there might be a problem with the button sequence timing for the Hunter Dodge. It seems like you have to double tap the B/Circle buttons faster than you had to for shade step and idk if if was meant to be like that or not. I just wanted to bring this up so it could be noted if it needs to be fixed.
Also, before anyone says anything, yes, I was trying to activate Hunter Dodge when the ability was charged up, I made sure that the ability was charged up. All it takes is one melee kill to recharge the ability.
Edit: My thoughts is that somewhere down the line, they accidentally decreased the time frame you have to double tap the buttons to activate the Hunter Dodge in D2, and you won't be able to notice it, unless you have reflexes that aren't normally on par with everyone else, which i do. That's my only explanation on how I can be able to Shade Step in Destiny 1 with no problem, but struggle to Hunter dodge in D2.
Edit2: I'm now testing it out in a Strike, which I feel bad for doing b/c I'm being on of those people who hold the Strike group back. What I'm noticing is as I'm double tapping B/Circle WHEN THE DODGE ABILITY IS FULLY CHARGED UP, it's blinking red like it would be doing if if wasn't charged up.
Edit3: I can add to my claim that Hunter Dodge takes quicker reflexes/response time than Shade Step. Even though the whole thing might still be a glitch with the whole blinking red light. My reflexes, response time isn't the best with my right hand, so yesterday when I took my left hand off of the left side of the controller and double tapped the crouch button as fast as I could to get it to work. But please note, I have no problem being able to do Shade Step on Destiny 1, so it doesn't make sense why I would be having trouble trying to use the Hunter Dodge in D2 given it's the same button combo.
Edit4: Here's the proof of the potential Hunter Dodge bug:http://xboxdvr.com/playlists/10610. When watching these videos, please draw your attention to the Dodge ability icon, when I attempt to do the Hunter Dodge, the Icon keeps blinking red. My verdict is still that it's either a bug/glitch, or somewhere down the line, they accidentally made it so you have to double tap the crouch button faster than you had to to activate ShadeStep, if they did, I would really appreciate it if they change it back to how it was with ShadeStep.
