And did you enjoy being killed in the crucible over and over by a god rolled grasp? Static rolls have improved the game vastly by not only making weapons somewhat unique, but also makes it easier for bungie to balance the game.

Static rolls and somewhat unique? I think you contradicted yourself. It's fine if you like static rolls (I don't), but you can't claim that they're unique when they are by definition not.
-
He's saying that each named gun is somewhat unique. My Better Devils and your Better Devils are both the same gun. No chance that mine has reload on critical health and yours has luck in the chamber. This is a good thing IMO, especially when you're talking about PvP.
-
Right... we totally don't have dominate weapons we see in the crucible all the time (Uriel's Curse)... and weapons that now can never compete due to bad perks (most pulse rifles). Sorry, but half of my heavy weapons seem to have quickdraw on it... that's not unique, that's stupid. I don't need to pull my gun out faster in PvP or PvE. It's a wasted slot. And if you're going to be accurate, it's god rolled FRoF pulses, not just grasp. You're narrowing the view intentionally. Also, your 'user choice is still there' comment I saw is BS. No, we had user choice in D1 and that's what you're trying to dissuade us from with D2. In fact, we had so much user choice, we could hand make our guns to the point of what we wanted to use them for in each specific activity. So don't go around saying 'user choice' yet limit all our choices with one static roll. It's a 1/4 of what we had back then. They remove choice so you can't have the optimal tool for the job. Solution, make more guns. Even with similar rolls, make more guns that can't roll certain combos of perks (Hmm... like they did before) and others that can't roll others and call it a day. The ability to tailor certain guns specifically has always been there, they simply refused to do it with anything but exotics. Just like they have and still have had the ability in D1 to change PvE and PvP separately (famous HoW PvE vs. PvP shotgun buff example, 300% PvE, like... 60% PvP, if I remember right) and it's the same with guns. The idea that things have 'miraculously changed' with static rolls is simply false. It's always been there, they just refuse to do it. Now, it's how they pushed static rolls... with the promise of 'singular tailoring', something that's already been around. You also say MIDA needs a nerf. Specifically, a HCR nerf. How is this any differnet than D1? You're literally calling for what's already happened before. Nothing has changed, nerfs will still nerf exotics, and legendary weapons still will always have 'top tier weapons' that you can't avoid. You just don't want the weapon to have the same couple of names... that's the only improvement with static rolls. The rest is completely the same. By the way, MIDA is grossly overrated and the only reason it's overpopulated is because you can get it within an hour after you beat the main game, guaranteed. With the amount of videos showing you how... it's easy to see how people literally get it as fast as possible. I've done completely fine in Trials 1v1s (granted, when they actually happen) with a number of other guns. Rush a MIDA and a close range gun will win. Duel with a scout and once you learn the recoil and know how to strafe, you will win. The gun really isn't that awesome, it's just familiar and easy to use. To call for a nerf is already to repeat D1 with even less merit than you had before. If all of these static guns were tailored so well, as you claim, then they should be able to compete with exotics rather than mess with a perk (which, I thought they were avoiding, you know, with static rolls). At the very least, they would merely need to buff some stability stats by 5 points on a choice few scouts that actually don't do well and you'd be fine, or, lessen MIDA stability by 5 points to compensate. Yet, you go after the perk? Why? That's counter intuitive to the reason we have static rolls in the first place, so that perks aren't the issue, just the gun itself.
-
Agreed. IMO random rolls is what got a lot of good guns nerfed in the first place.
-
You know what would've mad balancing crucible balancing easy without effecting pve? Have weapons obtained from pve events/vendors rollable but disable the perks in crucible and have weapons from pvp activities/vendors that have fixed and balanced perks. Bam! Everyone gets to play their game mode of choice without having it ruined by the other
-
So basically ruin the loot aspect completely to PvP players?
-
They can still acquire loot in pvp areas. What's the problem?
-
Edited by SeitePferd40: 9/26/2017 7:04:28 PMThe problem is, that to people who mainly play PvP, any PvE activity, any gun acquired in them, has just become pointless. Why would a PvP player do the raid, if he knows that the weapon is going to be useless in his main activity? How would a PvE player ever match up to a PvP player in, say Trials, as the PvP player is going to have plenty of PvP acquired guns, whereas the PvE player would mostly have PvE guns, which you just made useless in PvP, thus giving PvP players a huge edge. And the list goes on. Edit: And let's think about how much of a shitshow ironbanner would be, as PvE players flood into PvP once a month, just to be slaughtered by PvP players.
-
Well first off, just because a gun doesn't have perks doesn't make it useless by any means. I don't know about you but non of the perks in this game really stand out to me. If you're a pvp player and want to do the raid, I'm sure you've done enough pve to have at least a couple relevant pve weapons. Likewise if you're a pve player and want to do trials I'm sure you've played evough crucible to have a decent crucible weapon. Not to mention pvp players will always have an advantage over pve player in trials no matter what guns they have
-
Dude, he's right. You're not thinking this through.
-
Perks can make or break a gun. e.g. The old fashioned Drop mag + kill mag = amazing Also I think you're not getting the point. Would you as a PvE player do ironbanner if you knew, that the weapons were useless to you? Neither would a PvP player have any incentive to do any PvE content, then. And then again, if they have an edge as it is, how does it help anyone to further enhance the PvP players edge? Just face it, my man. Separating PvE and PvP like that would, if anything make Destiny worse.
-
You're not gonna get anywhere with this guy man. If it's any consolation, you're right and he's wrong.

Edited by MurderrTrain: 9/26/2017 7:29:38 PMKeywords "old fashion" Those perks aren't around anymore and if this were implemented I stated balanced perks. As in they could implement a new set of perks specifically tailored for pvp balance I imagine in this system you would be given a crucible gun when you start playing crucible. And anyone who plays iron banner plays crucible enough that they would be able to build up a weapon selection for it. Nobody jumps straight into iron banner or trials without ever touching crucible. Likewise, no crucible player ever goes from not touching a pve activity straight to trying a raid. Also this way they could break up quests between the two better. Crucible players would have more quests to obtain for the crucible and pve players wouldn't ever feel forced into the crucible for a quest. People who play both would have plenty to do
-
Edited by StoicBehavioR: 9/26/2017 6:39:41 PMYou make a good point then exotics would come into questioning. How would they be balance? Would they be PvE or PvP?
-
Well as of right now it may be a little late to adopt this idea. But they could've just separated pvp and pve exclusive exotics
-
Now it's all mida and the trials/gift auto rifle in pvp, way, way less weapon diversity. Fixed loot has had the opposite effect as intended lol Fixed loot has failed.
-
You're kidding right? Literally everyone is or will be using the exact same loadout so how is it any different?
-
You're kidding right? Literally everyone is or will be using the exact same loadout so how is it any different?
Only in trials where everybody is using mida. People use all sorts of guns in regular crucible.
-
The same shit happened in D1. After every iron banner. People were running the IB weapons for a few weeks. Especially clever dragon. And do you remember HoW?
-
Yes yes but come on at least we had some variety. You can see for yourself all there is now is basically MIDA and Uriels with their newest spam launcher in PvP
-
Variety? In D1? You only saw someone use different guns if they didn't have the god rolled meta guns of the moment. Otherwise as soon as a streamer put out what the best ones were, everyone ran towards that as fast as they could.
-
And variety is still present. That's up to the user.
Granted. I do think mida needs a nerf.
-
And variety is still present. That's up to the user.
Granted. I do think mida needs a nerf.

Nope, and you call for a nerf too, clueless.
-
Mida isn't the problem.. Map design is what makes the mida so good in certain game modes. Mida falls short in Supremacy when you're being rushed down.
-
The problem is fixed rolls and limited perk availability, perks are also generally nerfed, and so there's no variation in weapons or gear used....
