I can't be the only one who thinks getting a perfect roll or constantly trying to was one of the main aspects of the original and had us coming back for more? Now I see everything for what it really is.. reskinned and recolored with no real differences.
Levelling my guns to get a feel for them and unlocking the perks that felt signifcant were a huge part of the experience and without that it feels very empty.. It's kind of sad and since it is this way I don't see any 'U turn' coming any time soon on that route.
Edit: I'm definitely leaning more towards the randomization of perks or the addition of a way to customize the perks, and not the levelling of guns itself. It was something I felt needed brought up in relation to guns in the original.

Nah. Leveling guns was one of the most tedious parts of D1, and the grind was frustrating because it always seemed like everyone else had god rolls and would destroy with guns that I had worse rolls on and couldn't do shit with.
-
There should have been a wider variety of weapons with static rolls. I feel like theres only a handful of weapons worth using where as in D1, there was only a handful of weapons worth using with like 50 different perk combinations.
-
Give me a break lol grinding for rolls was by far one of the most annoying aspects of destiny. Not to mention unbalanced when it comes to crucible.
-
I think static rolls is one of the best things to happen to Destiny.
-
Gotta hate the static. Sing it sister!
-
It’s certainly killed it for me. They needed to get rid of the bad perks, make all weapons viable without any perks and then tweak the rest. I loved trying out different guns with different rolls. I ended up loving some that you subbed terrible. That’s a massive amount of replay ability lost for me.
-
Nah it's pretty good for the game

I can't and won't speak for pvp. But even as a pve player I find this head scratching and annoying. Even us pve players have preferred weapons/perks that fit our style of play. I can't tell you how many times I farmed shield brothers, valus tarac, and dust palace for a god roll treads upon stars. Gamers like choices. Take away those choices and we get irritated. The lack of choices is prevalent in D2. I keep telling myself D2 is barely a month old but the lack of variety in gear is painfully obvious. The lack of perks on gear just makes all of it feel very bland. Its like everything; subclasses, weapons, gear and their perks has been watered down. D2 does some things very well over d2 but falls just short of making those great.

Edited by puppyk1sses: 9/26/2017 5:04:38 AMGrinding for cosmetics instead of grinding for God rolls. It's awful. It needs to be addressed asap or people are going to stop playing before the game gets off the ground. They made a lot of very puzzling decisions to fix things and tweak things that were working great. They added a lot to the game, but they subtracted a lot lot more unfortunately. Also, most of the things they added were not implemented well. First major game update better be special or i'm going back to a Warframe with their open world expansion coming soon.

I don't want to be outgunned by rng stats rolls.

I understand many feel this way.. but it just isn't how my brain works... I play Destiny because the second to second gameplay is more fun than any other shooter. If I didn't think that, I wouldn't play it. looting cool stuff might accent the superb gunplay... but it certainly isn't a primary motivator for me. That said. I clearly see that many don't think like me and the loot is paramount to feeling like time in the game is well spent. I don't think I'll ever get it, but think that the community is being very clear (going all the way up to the most popular destiny streamers)... intense grind at some level of play has to be re-introduced. I am of the opinion that weapon rolls aren't it, but mainly because I think pvp without them is a godsend. I'd be game for bringing intellect, discipline, strength back and searching for that tier 12 armor. I'd prefer that the effects only take affect in pvp if level advantages are enabled. I don't think this is the only change though. They need more things resembling leveling past the final credits. a lot of stuff behind eververse should be rewards for doing tough stuff like Datto suggests in his video. I don't think we should level up every weapon we find... but leveling exotics would be a great way to invest into the exotics you find. I made a post about this myself, but I think it would be cool if they made the max light grind even bigger (earlier soft cap or more levels in general) and had exotics drop at the cap but you can level them past your current light level. so end game grinding for those that play WAY past completing weeklies, you could grind by leveling exotics. I think that would be a cool spin on the end game grind.

This game had playability? 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Edited by JukeBoxHero0311: 9/26/2017 4:27:25 AMIt was best when iron banner weapons were the only guns you could reroll, it made them unique

I remember I had a version of the Nameless Midnight way back in Destiny 1. I was the very few players running explosive rounds on their scout rifles. It was so OP then. But now, everyone and their grandma has a Nameless Midnight for Raid. So much for killing my sense of discovery.
-
Guns from factions and outposts should have the same perks but ones from engrams should be ramdom
-
It's gross
-
static gun rolls was bad idea agree with that
-
Yup Definitely gonna miss the endless disappointment of getting shit rolls which literally made a weapon useless
-
Eh, it didn't make too much of a difference imo considering in D1 every went for pretty similar rolls on guns anyway
-
Static rolls are fine if you have the variety to back it up. From what I've seen there's a handful of legendary weapons and even less mods
-
Thats what happened when they cater to PvP and the Cryers who hated certain God Weapons. Dont get me started on the gear tho. Almost everything is just constant reskins.
-
You mean lack of weapons.
-
I fully disagree. I hate grinding, so getting a weapon I know if going to be good and not just give me some stupid edge I don't need because I got lucky, I prefer that. I prefer just getting a designed weapon. It feels better on the whole.
-
im glad, i aint got time to hunt for god rolls when i can be enjoying other games too. i thank them for valuing my time
